I am not seeing any reason for me to be fussed up over this.
If the hat needed a new sweat then it already is a numbers not matching hat, to borrow terminology from the car resto biz, and its value is substantially diminished.
The brim was not cut down so the hat can be returned to its original...
I got 90 weight gear oil on a Stetson 100% beaver western silver belly (one on my head in avatar) and used talcum powder to get it out. I was in awe of how well it did. I can't find the spot today and can't smell the rank gear oil smell. I applied and brushed/vacuumed/blew off the talc and...
I'm not about to quit wearing on the remote chance it MIGHT promote thick hair growth on my scalp. I'd miss all those hat days and maybe not get the hair back either. If I grow the hair back who cares? I'm never giving up the hats.

I distorted the sweatband on a favored but slightly large hat with the foam stuff years back. Since then I use cereal box cardboard or similar and cut strips 1-1 1/4 " wide and put behind the sweatband. I get a full size with a full circle of that or a half size if I do 1/2 and put it in the...
I agree. I guess I may be one of those in the minority but I use a less stringent set of "rules". I want you to keep your hat on and I want to keep mine on.
I take my hat off in someone's home I do not know.
It's off in church unless it's cowboy church where hats are only doffed for prayer...
I bought a hat that had been significantly stretched from the marked size. It is a 100x Resistol.
I pulled the liner out and then I found a 2 inch wide nylon strap that had D rings on it and I cinched that on the hat and gave it a good pull to squeeze the hat right at the crown-brim break. Now I...
