Here are a couple more of mine:
A blackthorn of unknown age:
and a 19th Century entirely hand carved and lacquered "two fingers" walking stick.
This was a popular theme among the drinking crowd....;)
I like the "swells" somewhat resembling knotty bamboo which I supposed was the intention.
And while I have posted a picture of President Truman much has been said about his working at a men's furnishing store.....not only is it true...but he was a co-owner!
Here he is April of 1920, in His Shop in Kansas City.
Left to right: President Truman; Francis Berry (who was a corporal in...
President Truman in his "Washington/Official business Hat" December 23 1949....73 years ago today!
You can see where Eisenhower got the inspiration for his "business hat" as his was almost identical.
A 1915 Stetson Electrotype Booklet........the fiftieth anniversary.

From 1915 (Stetsons Fiftieth Anniversary) Stetson Electrotype book with ads dealers can use and order. Note the color section with the theater slides available.....AND if you used their ads Stetson wanted a copy of the paper where you ran the ad.
And the color theater slides....
and some...
Two Questions:
Did it fit?
And
Will we see it in the WHYWT Tread? (I could see this being warn around the house with your smoking jacket or bath robe).
;)
I thought I had pictures of mine in this thread but it was in the Dobb's Diner....Mine has the same type of label as Brent's but my liner is sewn and not glued. I am using Stefan's photos here:
The leather foiling seems cleaner and better quality.
And the awesome red liner.....
And...
What I want to know.....was it/is it part of "dads collection" and how do they compare the feel/quality of the metal......perhaps to a Stetson Twenty or a 5x at least!
For extra value: can "dad" re-crease it for the buyer?
EDIT: The more I think about this.....I run across these horn mutes...
Steve,
Brents hat was made under license of Hat Corporation of America which has been around for some good long time (around 1930).
Germany began licensing Stetson and Dobbs right around 1960.....(I belive 1958 for Stetson). I always supposed it was due to a built in US market (military...
I have collected mainly walking sticks.....I have used a good many in my historical impressions.
Here is a foursome....
1892 GAR Washington Encampment memento....painted wood-grain decoration.
Unknown date knotty bamboo........
Unknown date Burl-wood stick.....I like how the handle ends in...
Well...on this particular hat the felt is thick and hard to work.....took a LOT of steam and patience....BUT.....once set....the hat likes it and it has been quite easy to wear with no maintenance.;)
As a bump.....My modern Imperial Stetson "Norwalk", not my favorite but rather incorporates favorite elements....a quad or four corner pinch as well as a creased and raised center (gives me more head room). It always gets compliments.
Here is a Grey Towncraft Stratoliner/Open Road clone.
This one has 5.5 inch crown by 2 1/2 in bound brim. Marked XXX the felt is thin, dense and not stiff in any way. I did flatten the flange of the brim out a bit leaving an upturn of the binding at the edge.....
The sweat is a nice supple...
Some random thoughts:
Lee (who made Marathon Hats for Penny's) was bought by Stetson in 1960. Stetson was looking to close out the factory and brand around 1964-1965.
I wonder if Penny's decided at that time to drop their Marathon hats line and re-brand/integrate them into their already...
