locations of good hat stores?
felt hats are $600 plus I believe. But they may have different options than the last time I checked, they recently produced a batch of lightweight beaver felts for another local retailer and they weren't quite so much. -

JJ Hat Center in NYC, Bencraft in Brooklyn. Worth and Worth is also there, but I do not recommend their straws. Paul's Hat Works in SF does custom felt and Panama hats. Small, but very old shop. We don't really have any proper hat stores anymore, though Goorin is around for wool hats. Berkeley... -

I would recommend the Royal Deluxe premier strat. Stetsons are generally more finely pounced than Akubras, leading to a softer hand. My experience has been that Stetsons have less stiffener, but this varies in both Akubra and Stetson production runs. The Stetson Japan instagram account did post...
