I like lots of different profiles as the outfit dictates. Though after wearing 3" brims for a while, wearing my Optimo Dillinger felt a little like wearing a beanie!
Thanks Steve! 4" brim on this one, it's a lot of hat!
Thanks Héctor. I don't wear this one often and figured it needed some head time.
Actually, since Knudsen/Golden Gate Western Wear is only a few miles away from my work, I picked this one up off the rack. I was originally going to inquire...
The crease was backwards or the ribbon was on the 'wrong' side?
If the former, I've got nothing. But the latter commonly occurs in editing when the film (or video as it were) is flipped to change directions.
Well, the generic answer from this non-hatmaker: appears to be yes. Scientific Hat Finishing describes some variation on techniques for 'napped' felts and velours.

I asked the guys at Hat Guys in Oakland if they would be willing to part with one of their Stetson signs after they closed up shop but never heard back from them.
Most hats didn't have a name embossed on the sweatband. Assigning value to vintage hats is always perilous as ebay is fickle and interest comes and goes in waves. Size 7 is relatively small, but definitely more saleable than 6 7/8.
