Thank you, sir. It doesn't get out much. Seems more of deep winter dress hat because of the color, and the proportions don't match up well unless it's paired with a top coat or similar outerwear. But if I flip the brim up I can wear it casually with just about anything.
A return to normal temperatures with a bit of rain here today, although it's not enough to dampen our drought. The descendants of Tom Joad may go back to Oklahoma if this keeps up.
Navy blue Champ with burgundy ribbon.
Thanks to all who commented on the Mallory Milan and OR straw from yesterday.
Miamibruno, yes, I was sporting the recently acquired Borso on Saturday.
So many hats have been posted since then that I would be up way beyond my bedtime commenting on them all, so I'll just say "well done...
Charlie--too bad I can't send some of our weather your way. It's a bit too warm here for this time of year. Nice Churchill, stellar Stephen L.
David, Joao, thanks, and kudos to Mr. Mallory, too.
Joao, I really like the open crown Buckhorn.
I changed hats for a walk late this afternoon...
vmtrevino--first, welcome to the lounge, I've been admiring your hats. That looks like a nice Milan Stratoliner. Back yard grilling in Houston, it doesn't get any better. Most of my family lives there and I try to get there once or twice a year.
Thanks, dh and OG. Here's a little bit of history on Caffe Trieste. The article mentions the Beat writers who used to hang out there, one of whom was Michael McClure, who taught at California College of Arts and Crafts when I worked there over a decade ago. I used to have some interesting...
Searching for the ghost of Jack Kerouac in North Beach, San Francisco this morning. I didn't find him but ended up at one of his former hangouts, Caffe Trieste, for cappuccino, live music and conversation. A Borsalino Alessandria seemed to be the appropriate head gear.
Playing some catch-up, or keep-up, if you will. Looking good today and all through the last week, gents.
Yesterday, this Stratoliner.
And today, an amazing Borsalino, Alessandria style, courtesy of miamibruno.
tommyK--I watched that one but it's so close to one I already have, I didn't bid. The seller is just up the 101 from me. Happy to see a fellow Lounger got it.
Borsalino for me today.
