Yes it certainly was but not anymore, I made an offer on it last night and he accepted this morning.
I’m very curious about it, I’ve never seen that particular label, the red/black pattern lining and unique buckle.
You KNOW you have a real sickness when you're saddened that you DIDN'T buy something that you needed like another Hole in the Head and it kicks you in the balls for a couple of days thinking about it.
Whew…Good to know I’m not the only one does this.
Pretty cool looking coat like it is, as already stated probably just needs some leather conditioner. I like the description “motorbike coat”, has an eccentric, vintage vibe. I think I’m going to have to start calling some of my leathers a “motorbike coat”
Thanks for posting this, I love these histories of the good ole days. These stories are as much a part of what connects me to vintage wear as the items themselves. It’s also good to remember how tough most of the generations before us had it. I’m a sissy with an easy life compared to these tough...
Speaking of cuffs..
The Appalachian arrived and when trying it on I thought whoa these are short sleeves for a 46 jacket. Appears the previous owner had the cuffs turned in/under to shorten them. I’ll be sending it to Dena next week.
It had me curious because of some similarities.
Seems it was primarily Sears and Wards jackets that had peaked lower back panels. They also share the same pocket zipper design, same 1 star epaulets and they both have sleeve zippers on the top/front of the sleeves.
The generic one has no...
Was wondering if any of you can tell me who made this cross zip. Pretty hefty leather, well worn needing some repair and new lining. Main zip is serval, sleeves are NYNCO.
This jacket on eBay right now is exact same build...
I was watching that same vertical zip as well but was afraid it’d be too small. Plus couldn’t get much response from seller on measurements until the very end of the auction.
Yes the vintage wool/cloth outerwear can be just as addictive as leather, I’ve got way too many for a guy who lives in...
These 3 were already in route ahead of the Appalachian
Sears Fieldmaster
I love the details used in those eras.. extra “ticket” pocket, epaulet cuffs.
Sport King
Cool Art Deco label
..and a mystery jacket, no label, no size, terrible pics, sketchy details but seller accepted offer low...
I’d have to say it’s an honor to be considered “one of us” along with Terry Mitchell whatever “us” is. I am pretty pleased to have been able to snag one of these jackets.
I pretty much fly under the radar and don’t post much ..just those occasions when my excitement spills out.
The last one is the one the seller had the armpit to armpit at 20.5” which I was sure was wrong. I had asked her to double check the measurement but it sold before she got back to me. I snoozed and so I loosed. That was a good get at a good price. Good looking patch D-pocket.
