Glad you got it Terry, I almost bought it even tho I knew it wouldn’t fit. I have enough of a problem with too many that do fit and live in a hot climate, go figure. My wife thinks I’m nuts and she’s probably right. Just 2 days ago she says “so I see you’ve taken over another closet with your...
It does need a little seam repair. Most of the British Cycle Leathers I see seem the worse for wear but this one is in pretty good shape. I'm pretty happy with it. I've got a couple of jackets I need to send to Dena for some work, probably this one as well.
Been looking awhile for one of the Canadian made versions of the “Cycle Champ” with no luck and finally gave up. This one popped up yesterday.
“WIND CHEATER” no less .. how damn cool is that label!
Not leather but just too cool with vintage details not to post alas just a bit too small for me.

Do you or anyone else happen to have any experience with Klucel G as a leather binder for rot or flaking leather? I’ve thought of trying some on a jacket collar that needs some help.

Yes I caught that on the Appalachian switched it out..whoops. I’m going to take some better pics of it and post it in the right thread.
The Reed was very well made with nice well grained leather. Conmar zips all around. It had been well worn but still in good shape. It was no hassle easy return...
REED SPORTSWEAR CROSS ZIP
Really like the styling on this unique looking jacket but quite disappointed to find out it’s nowhere near a size 44 as listed. Conmar zips and unusual hook & buckle belt, slick red black patterned lining
However only 19” across the chest
Tagged a size 20 inside...
I got the same kinda results:
"My brother tried to measure it the best he could and it is as follows. Top to bottom is 22 1/2 ". Collar to Waist is 27 1/2-28. Waist is about 38"
Good for you, glad it went to someone who’ll appreciate it! Been watching for one in a 44 for awhile without any luck.
Post some fit pics when it arrives.
By this do you mean with the Skidmores-Vaseline or did you put some material behind the leather to reinforce?
Jacket looks great, it’s a great feeling to freshen up and preserve a cool vintage jacket.
Love these vintage suede leather-knits. Very rockabilly cool stuff but unfortunately not my size.

I bought this jacket a month ago and returned it. It’s a newer production just as @JMax stated, thinner leather not as well put together as earlier MW-Brent jackets. Zipper almost impossible to get started because it’s sewn to deep into the front fold.

I know what you mean Reed was not specifically on my search radar either and this listing never even mentions Reed but it was certainly unique and caught my eye. Ended up paying more than I wanted to on a gamble but it was haunting me.
Also only focused on vintage and or unique, not a big...
Here’s a link to a story about Reed - Buco relationship that I found last night while searching Reed Sportswear history. This could certainly cloud the issue even more.
