Does have nice substantial horse hide. Lots of grain and patina. I’ll take a better pic with some outdoor lighting when I get a chance. I like this Kit Carson really well.
Recently returned Kit Carson from Dena @ Great Leather after zip replacement and loose stitching repairs. Have had it for awhile stuck in the back of the closet needing the zip replaced finally got around to it.
Kinda vintage moto/aviator cool vibe.
Lining fairly decent just a little dirty...
Just arrived from Italy in a little over 30 days. 30’s suede button up.
lining has a few rough spots but not too bad
No label just very faded size 44 tag in right pocket
Seller says it’s a US made jacket but not sure what he’s basing it off of. Any ideas on maker @tmitchell59?
Thanks, it is a pretty solid jacket for mid 40’s. It’s a perfectly suited weight for my AZ desert climate, I’m pretty happy with it. And lucky for me it slipped past your radar!
I believe the chest coil zipper is original. It’s this same Nu Zip that Spenser Stewart detailed in his Haberdashers blog in a 1930’s Knockabout wool halfbelt.

Thanks guys,
If the metal coil zipper is not original it’s pretty old and tarnished. Hard to read, one side says “Made in USA” the other I think is “Nu Way” but not completely sure. I definitely don’t know much about coil zippers.
Had this one on my watch list for awhile also. Seller started out...
I also joined the Pony Hide club with this recent arrival. This jacket is also a very light weight jacket. Haven’t weighed it but it’s the lightest leather jacket I have.
chest zipper is a coil zipper, the 1st one I’ve had in a jacket.
It also arrived with the pull stuck couple inches up...
Congrats and Best Wishes there Dude. I’ve always liked the vintage style you’ve embraced in your wardrobe.
Words of wisdom from 42 years of marriage it’s 4 little magical words not 3..
“YOU’RE PROBABLY RIGHT DEAR”
It’s was on my saved list, talked with the seller a few months ago, forgot about because he said he had accepted an offer evidently didn’t. The label alone is a winner. Thanks for reminding me
Whoa there Buckaroo, that thing is Kick A$$!! I'm still trying to find me a BCL "Cycle Champ" that fits since I know I'll never afford an HD one. The fringe one I've never seen before but that just makes it even cooler. Well done there Marc.
