    1920's? Maroon pinstripe suit

It looks 1920's but I question it because of interior of the pants look very '30s/'40s along with the diagonal pockets which I read was not seen on mens pants until 1954. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=151000525190&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en

    The thirties in the seventies

I forgot to mention that and have to agree with you! Yes, women's style was quite elegant in the '70s whether formal or casual. It's crazy how awful the main style became just a few years later (for both men and women).

    The thirties in the seventies

That's an interesting point regarding the '50s influence. I guess it was really fueled by the "Happy Days" craze, but I noticed the '50s retro look didn't make a full comeback until the '80s when Rockabilly made a comeback. I recall my mom telling me how "1930's" the styles were in the '70s and...

For some reason, when men wore sneakers with suits in the golden era it just worked in my opinion.

'50s does '30s white pinstriped summer slacks.

Diagonal pockets and "sanforized" label date it to the post 1953 period, but everything else is pretty good '20s spec. http://www.etsy.com/listing/114061597/1940s-cotton-striped-pants?ref=sr_gallery_21&ga_search_query=1940%27s+pants&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=vintage
