As has already been said, this is your best fitting jacket so far.
This type of embossed leather is not scotch grain, but rather "Utah" as brands such as Edward Green call it or "Alpine" (Alden) or "Russian Calf".
Here are some examples...
If the lining is shot, I would consider having it replaced by Deena, salvaging the tag of course as that's in good condition it seems.
Killer jacket though!
I'll chime in and note that the Schott fits you well IMO. My 613H was super stiff when I got it too, but it's softened up nicely now. Wear it around your house, on your couch, ball it up and sit on it, etc. It will break in and feel more comfortable in time.
Perfect fit IMO. I'm your exact size in chest and waist so it's good to know a Large would be my size should I ever desire one. I have a normal Bravestar Ironside in a Large, unworn besides at a desk a couple times, and it is super long and rather roomy in the chest. Seems bigger than the...
I'm with you. Every time I see a pigment dyed leather I just feel like it looks so plain, cheap, and boring. Particularly mid/seal brown. I love color variation and depth to my leather, whether that's a shoe, boot, jacket, belt, etc.
Sounds like this jacket is probably the perfect match for you if you're going to be going from warmer to colder climates, with the assist from other layers as necessary of course. The only other jacket which could fit the bill as equally would be an Indy jacket IMO.
As for the length, the OP...
The buffalo is gorgeous! If it was American Bison though, it would be easy to spot since it's extremely grainy with a lot of pronounced crosshatching. Thedi certainly uses water buffalo.
@Marc mndt I know the Thedi is slightly longer than you are used to, but that jacket fits you perfectly...
I’ve been wanting something in a sashiko fabric for a while now, so I decided to go for this Taylor Stitch Long Haul version. I hope I get the size right.
Also, random perusal of the classifieds landed me this beauty that I have lusted over for a while now. I couldn’t pass it up and the...
Always wanted this makeup since I saw it first and based on at least some of these dimensions, this might work for me. PM sent, we'll have to see about the back length and I'm not sure about that sleeve either.
I didn't know that Greg could get tobacco Badalassi. That may change some things now for me. I'm going to wait to see what his new designs are first before I finally take the plunge.
