Jeb: my sister wants me to make her a hat very similar to the one your wife is wearing. It looks good on your wife. Here in Vermont, we have 5 seasons: summer, fall, winter, mud season, and spring. That's as good a reason to have as many different types of hats as any I suppose. -

Judging by the color of the fur on the cones, I would say they are making beaver hats, or partial beaver. Notice the dark color, that is beaver I believe. -

fml: I like your Sturgis so much that I bought one. Very nice. I plan to send it off to have a hat block made just like it so I can have the same style in beaver. I have noticed that a majority of the western hats that I see and like are wool. -

It is a sharp looking hat. Wool is great if that is your priceline. Not everyone that wears a hat wears an expensive hat. I think you should seriously consider staying away from wool as it will shrink and distort in the rain. After all, a hat should be made to protect us from the rain. Take... -
