Grenson masterpiece?
Pocketsquare doesn't seem to work at all.
Shoos colour is a distraction for that outfit [in my view]; serious business shoos going with a more casual outfit, it doesn't work well. Also, l would have liked to have seen lighter shoos so there isn't so much matching...
Grey shoos are very popular amongst the over 70's men in my area, pretty much a staple. $7 vinyl sip up loafers with: plastic glued soles, synthetic linings and sythetic uppers.
A good question and yes, burgundy shoos are very rare. To me burgundy/cordovan calf is abit of a wierd colour to wear for shoos, why wear burgundy when you can wear sharper shades that more people take more seriously, ie black.
My burgundy calf shoos are the least worn in my closet. One pair...
Of course it's ugly, it's been through alot and has only been treed last year. Still, whether it's ugly or not is not the point, i'm showing you how they used to make the RMW boots. The photo's say it all!
l've always avoided posting my R.M.Williams boots online, so this is a first, i've done it for you guys, and only on this forum.
This boot is 25 years old and the only RMW that l put a sole covering on, so the original sole is preserved for all to see. This is the second time i've ever...
Here is alittle bit l wrote about R.M.Williams:
"R.M.Williams 1 – the everlasting iconic brand is in great hands!!!
This brings me to my next point about R.M.Williams and Australian leather.
When l mentioned my concerns about RMW getting some clothing made offshore and abandoning there...
l'll dig a pair of mine out when l go down my beach house next, they won't look pretty, i've only polished them once in quarter of a century. Still as tough as nails.
l'll also try and go one better.....i'm seeing the principle `last' designer for R.M.Williams [hopefully next week]. l'll try...
Quality is definately dropped in the leather quality. 25 years ago the uppers were of a real tight grain, now the grain is alot loser (a simple running of your finger along the grain hide uppers will comfirm this: the higher the pitch the better the grain). The old ones took alot of punishment...
l'm talking about boots made around 25+ years ago. The quality drop off has been around for quite a while. My last pairs of RMW were bought around 12 years ago.
l'm comparing the exact same brass screwed model.
You have only been buying them for 10 years so you are probably not aware of...
Brass screwed?
Yeah, they certainly don't make `em like they used too. They used to make `em with a nice thick bevelled waist, really solid.
Slowly but surely RMW have skimped and l refuse to buy anymore. lt breaks my heart when l see what they are making now. Not good.
