On the welt:
Makes it look much better luxurious. No wheeling makes a shoo look cheap.
lt's just another step cut out of the shoemaking process. Once a company starts cutting steps it will all go down hill from there. What is next?...fiber board insole?...rubber welting? Give it time and the...
Talking about unusual leathers, my shoemaker the other day was telling me about `unborn calf'. lf a pregnant mother dies they still use the leather of the unborn calf. lt is really soft like goat leather and strong.
Corfam looks completely different from shell to my eye if the pair has been worn at least once because the wear marks are radically different from calf or corfam.. l wish you had the chance to play too, it would have been interesting to see what you opinion would have been.
That is very...
l have never ever seen any shell look like that online in the last 8 years of posting on forums. l know shell v's calf very very well, and if l were wrong on this l would be extremely surprised. l could be wrong, but my ability to pick shell from grain corrected calf has been flawless so far.
l have the same pair Matt, a pair from 10 years ago in the same leather and they are great shoes! Good quality back then, maybe they still are. Congratulations.
Thanks for the nice comments on the shoos. l really love this pair because of the styling, shapeness, elegance and AMAZING snug fit that makes me feel great. Definitely need more of this type of fits.
l am sooo excited about the Budapesters (due near Easter). They are the BIGGEST monsters you will ever see...the FATTEST of boys possible. Real man shoos! Picture this:
1). A BIG brogue
2). The BIG budapest last with a BIG high front
3). BIG gnarly old teeth in the form of 3 rows of stitching...
l can understand how you feel with square toe shoes, but when you really have time to look at the G&G square toe last designs/shapes of the high and mighty Tony Gaziano in the flesh, you really start to appreciate just how elegant and special these shapes really are. Most square shapes on shoos...
The last page have been some great looking shoos. :eusa_clap
Here's a pair l bought this morning, Gaziano & Girling rtw:
l pick up my big boy bespoke trial shoos in a few hours. lt is a one of it's kind in Australia and made by one of the last of the Aussie legends and talents. Not...
Wow amazing stuff! l've seen similar constructions but never like that before. Really fine sole stitching and a double wood pegged waist despite the waist being sewn on one side.
l wonder where they were made.
Lucky. l actually could have bought an NOS pair last year of cordovan longwings by the same maker but decided not to because of the $500 price tag. l'm still kicking myself over it.
Thanks Isshinryu101, good to see you posting here too. l love all your shoos, so fat and awesome *wink* .
Yeah, can't go wrong with the classics. l am surprised how most people prefer the trendy stuff and hate the old classics, so silly. l was in the shop and all these blokes were buying...
