I stopped into the local Panera Bread Friday morning to pick up a bagel to eat for breakfast once I got to the office. The young lady who's usually on duty wasn't there so I was dealing with someone "new". He was quite taken with my VS! Asked all sorts of questions about it and couldn't stop...
My niece had her Confirmation at church this evening. I'm willing to guess that it's been a LONG time since this clip held an honest to goodness hat!

I received a Mark Christopher Collection hat rack from Amazon today. While mine holds three hats, they make a 4 and a 5 hat variants. I like it! Of course I'll hopefully be putting the felt hats into storage soon and will place my summer straw hats here soon. <fingers crossed>

Mine was/is $29.87 for "standard" shipping. That's where they wait and ship a bunch at once to FL and then once there they are repackaged individually and shipped. That's when I'm to receive a tracking number.

Yep. Just note that that's for "Inventory" hats ... ones that are already mostly finished like the one I ordered a couple weeks ago and not for the total custom jobs like the one DRB is having made. :)

DRB, They say it should be at the US distribution point within 12-15 days from the date of shipping from Ecuador, so if they mean "calendar days", it should be in the US tomorrow. If "work days", that would be Friday or next Monday. At that point I should receive a tracking number as it...

Which style is that DRB? Classic Fedora?

Guidance please ... my (I believe) mid 1950's Playboy has a beautiful snap brim. But the crown ... doesn't seem to have any "body" left. I get it shaped into a nice teardrop or diamond, but any handling or wearing or placing on a hat stand ... and the crown loses its shape. It's just too soft...
I'm now waiting for a hat from Panama Hats Direct. <fingers crossed>
I've posted the pictures they sent me and some info on it in the Panama Hats subforum: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/panama-hat-thread.38152/page-202#post-2528319

I'm taking a chance on a Panama Hats Direct hat. It's a Montecristi, sub fino, semi calado, Havana style, pre-made, on sale hat ($97 USD plus S&H). I figured it's a fairly inexpensive way to see how their sizing compares to other hat makers (I seem to wear a 59 in Stetson and 58 in Mayser) in...
I finally got around to visiting my jeweler with the pin. He tested it to make sure his solder would adhere and then agreed to convert it for me. Snipped off the original pin and soldered on a lapel/hat pin to the back. I'm thrilled with it!
