I see several Alpha jackets tagged as Vintage series. What is the one that you guys own?
version1 tagged as B-15D
version2 tagged as B-15C with shoulder decal
version3
All the 3 versions claim to be USA made. The third one has an incredibly low price, there should be something I'm missing...
Very nice jacket! Congratulations!
Based on the pictures and the size charts on their web-sites I think they are a bit oversized. I mean the size 38 is like 40 in Aero.
They have also an interesting B-10 jacket.
I live 300 km away from them so maybe I'll pay them a visit. Being able to try...
Superb jacket!
Did you notice any variation in the fit compared to other OG B-3 jackets?
I would suspect some variations thinking to the ones of A-2 jackets belonging to different contracts/makers.
Yes but for some of vintage enthusiast is a bit different. Lots of us do informed purchases. That is looking for the real qualities of the item (materials, fit, build quality). Bearing a certain famous label won't be sufficient for me to buy that.
Ture, eBay has loads of LVC distressed jackets...
Hi everybody,
At the beginning I started being interested in vintage Americana (men clothing mostly). I have a few pairs (mostly repros): LVC, Lee Archives, SugarCane and few originals (oldest from 60s). I continued with biker leather jackets , police leather jackets, military uniforms...
It looks like a real Lost Worlds ANJ-4. Not a premier maker? Can you please detail what do you mean?
Also can you please elaborate on the Dubow label thing?
Nice job replacing the missing leather part. Thanks for taking time to expose all the steps.
I purchased also the knits from http://www.flightjacketknits.com . Indeed v nice quality at a fair price.
I live in the continental western Europe and here the vintage phenomena is quite obscure. There...
So far I ordered 2 standard jackets from Aero, while Amanda was still there. Good service, fit of the jackets ok. There was def place for better in regards to this. Perhaps I did not know what to ask for(bc of my lack of documentation).
My 2 cents on customer relationship with Aero:
- I find it...
The fact that the price of sheepskin increased is quite strange.
For example in Romania, the farmers that raise sheep complain that there is no interest for skins and wool. Very often they choose to throw them away unless needed for personal use. Few of them try to process them. They sell wool...
How much time did it take you per cuff? How about for waist band?
I intend to do the same thing. Being in continental Europe, there are not workshops that offer that specialized services like in UK / US. I went once with a jacket to get a stitching at the sleeve and I ended up with a crappy...
I wonder how do the various workshops perform the cuff replacement. This is because the exact reproduction of the cuff stitching is kind of difficult.
I checked the 2 rows of stitching of the G-1 jacket knitts (upper one that is visible and lower one that is hidden somehow). I think that there...
@Dumpster Diver
Those look pretty good. I bought 2 pairs of these for replacement, they are on the way. One of my 60s vintage jackets has that model of knits with the horizontal ribs. I have 2 G1 jackets from late 50s and early 60s that need getting cuffs, waistbands replaced.
I do not like...
I have a black A2 in FQHH from Lost Worlds. Leaving aside the historical hype with brown/russet colored jackets, I think that black leather is elegant and provides a distinguished look. Considering also the military pattern of A2, in my opinion it looks great. I will try to get a picture with...
Thanks for the answers!
@Metatron
You got a good point not to paint the jacket, I'll try to keep it this way. Hope the Pecard will darken it a bit.
@Atticus Finch
I was thinking of keeping this collar, is that extremely worn?
Won't the solvents from Pecard weaken this old leather?
How about...
