They are bigger than I'd prefer, and they don't appear as large in person, but they are bigger than an A-2 or a G-1. I think part of their "large" appearance is the jacket is new and the pocket flaps are still a little stiff and tend to stick out a little. The patch pockets incorporate...
My Super 38 has been here before, so just showing off the new grips I found a few weeks ago in a Hondo, TX, gun shop - they were marked "stag-like" right on the packaging!
For this 40 degree morning, it's my $99, much-modified, Landings Leather "A-1" jacket. I previously had all the buttons changed to "horn" and last week had all the knits changed to A-2/G-1 wool replacements. While hardly the best jacket in my closet, it is one of the most comfortable (very...
From "Ladies They Talk About" (1933), starring Barbara Stanwick. The hat worn by Det. Tracy (played by Dewitt Jennings) near the end of movie really stood out to me.
Recycle pic, but wearing my [just back from the tailor] Aero A-2. Purchased from a fellow Lounger last year knowing there was a small hole in one wrist knit. It was not usually visible, so not an issue for me. This year, I noticed that wearing it was causing the hole to grow. I contacted...
Thank you - it wasn't. I found it in an antique store in Comfort, TX, and it was like new, but had a small cut in the brim edge. The price was more than right and Paris Hatters in San Antonio trimmed the brim at no change in less than two minutes. The felt is incredible and very soft - I just...
The past few days collected & waiting on me at the front door (on an early 1900s oak hall mirror) - L-R: 1960s Resistol 5X, well-worn & reshaped 1970s Stetson 4X, and Akubra BGCD.
Looks like a good deal to me, but it's not made by Taylor's - it is an import by the same maker of their imported jackets. I'd call them and talk to customer service - they have always been very helpful and straightforward about the sale jackets I've been interested in.
The link did not take me to a particular jacket, but I will share what I know about Taylor's. I've been wearing their jackets since 1984. My first was a horsehide police motorcycle jacket and it was one of the finest jackets I've ever owned. Over the years I have owned several other police...
Haven't posted here in a while since I tend to wear the same hats for work, but today I changed things up a little and wore my 1960s vintage Resistol 7X western.
Wearing my Taylor's Leatherwear black civilian flight jacket. Taylor's called it a "G-2" (no longer in their catalog), but I'm not really sure what the correct name is for this style of jacket. The leather is soft, but grainy - not sure what kind it is. I know Taylor's uses horse, steer, and...
I've not seen one in person either - the photos on the forum I linked to show the grip-shaped pieces attaching under both grip panels, and then the adapter piece mounting to them. Tyler made it much simpler and I'll just stick with installing a smaller adapter!
