It's not really a "before and after." The hat with "new" sweat and liner had neither when I bought it - only a peeling Stetson decal and size label (7-1/2) - so it was not wearable until it was refurbished.
The exterior and interior photos (with brown sweat & no liner) in that post are of a...
Nothing significant to see in the interior. I found the hat on a table at a gun show in Fredericksburg, TX, but it had no sweat band (only the Stetson decal, which was peeling off, and the size decal). So, I took the hat to Texas Hatters in Lockhart, who installed a new sweatband.
This hat...
A few years ago Bates was offering a higher quality dress shoe in leather with leather soles - much better overall quality, came with shoes bags, etc. I picked up mine in the Navy Exchange in Norfolk. Not sure if they are still available.
I'm not sure if I have posted this hat in this thread - today I am wearing my black 1930s Stetson Standard Quality. The felt is amazing - soft and stays wherever you put it.
David wasn't allowed to advertise his involvement until the show aired, but told me he made Brosnan's hats for show, plus a couple of extras the production company ordered. He also advised Brosnan spent time at the shop watching hats being made and was fascinated by the process. He ended up...
I have had my Bushman on here before, but have made some changes to the crease – after adding some rear dents, it is now more of a Gus/Diamond. Photos were taken in different lighting – color is Nullarbor Tan.
Brosnan's hats for the show were made by David at Texas Hatters in Lockhart, TX. I have a couple of episodes recorded and plan to watch them before I pick my hat from TX Hatters this weekend.

Getting reacquainted with the great TV western “Maverick” over the past few months, I have paid attention to their headwear, which for most part, are excellent hats.
Bret Maverick had two hats (not sure where he kept the other one?) – a black one woen for gambling, and a silverbelly(?) when...
Please forgive the heresy of wearing this hat before Straw Hat Day next month, but could not resist trying out my new Stetson vent-weave 10X “straw” Open Road. The color is “Toast” (slightly darker tan than the photo shows), with a brown ribbon, and seems lighter in weight than my other “straw”...
Thank you for all the likes and positive comments on my Akubra Bushman yesterday - but you may be taking them back today. I have always liked the way the crown came out (from the front), but I started playing around with the hat last light and added dents to the back, making it a kind of...
In anticipation of today’s alleged rainstorms (that were supposed to start at 6AM – still waiting), my Nullabor Tan Akubra Bushman. Very happy with this hat, but for some reason I don’t wear often enough.
I always assumed it referred to a white dinner jacket - that's what my brother always wore to prom, etc., back in the 1960s - and probably why I wear one today.
I apologize if I have posted this one before, but here is the Gus/Tom Horn crease I put on my Nullabor Tan Akubra Bushman. I think it gives the hat an early 1900s Stetson look.
