Thanks, John, for the reply and acknowledging your take on this question was a subjective one vis-a-vis your love of specific sheepskin characteristics. The OP, however, asked a question that was clearly about authenticity (you can't get much more specific than his subject heading), and for...
There is only one - Eastman Leather Clothing. No other comes this close in fit, construction, appearance, and correct detailing. Period.
If you want to truly honor your grandfather, please have a look here at post #736...
That is just amazing about the eyelets! Did you contact Steve to get them fixed or a replacement pair? I've known Steve for 30 years from attending the long-defunct Great Western Show and he has always been very responsive to quality concerns and I believe he would want to hear from you and...
It is a very complicated system and, in the case of Ebay, they have inaccuracies in how the sales tax is being applied. If you would normally pay a sales tax, then you should be charged. But as Seres pointed out, there are very specific applications that the current system does not provide...
Thanks for sharing the info. and the photos. And thank you for the kind words, too - I try hard and I sincerely am flattered to know my efforts paid off! I am personally delighted this all worked out so well for you. The look and fit are dead on and that is about as good as it gets in this...
I am momentarily digressing from outerwear posts in light of this solemn holiday and I hope this meets approval in this section of TFL.
Everyone should do whatever they want on Memorial Day and those who suggest spending the day in mourning aren't in touch with the essence of what those who...
Today, I'm really into offbeat cars of the 1970's and my other half and I would like something along the lines of a 1978 AMC Matador with an 8-track.
But I have been privileged to own a 1967 Corvette Stingray roadster with 327-inch engine and 350 BHP in Elkhart Blue with Teal Blue interior...
Yes, this is correct, John, as far as the M445A being new this fall and made just for this year. It will feature the diamond-shaped elbow reinforcements and merino wool that looks amazing - very silky - on the sample I saw. The merino reminds me of the very best NOS vintage jackets I've seen...
Nice wartime Conmar zipper slider and pull! SM Wholesale makes a solid A-2 at a great price.
As for original A-2 sizes, they went up to 54, but that was a 1940's 54, so while still large, it is not like a size 54 today and would lily fit a 52" chest measure comfortably, at best.
Thank you for...
The zippers are gunmetal-gray metal and extremely close to many found in use by the Luftwaffe. Personally, I like them very much, and far more than the polished nickel used on the 1st-generation Luftwaffe jackets Eastman made, but to each their now.
Fabulous jacket, John. The .50 Cal. A-1, as posted by me previously, is the most amazing jacket out of the box ELC offers, with nothing artificial at all about the TimeWear process.
Any paint spots will easily and harmlessly come off by applying Stripe Ease or other semi-gel stain and paint...
Well, the A-10 subject is not good, I'm very sorry to say. BR did not produce these for the 2018-19 FW season, hence why we've been so depleted: we've been existing off of 2017-18 stock and we have about 3 gloves left. We'll know if the A-10 makes a comeback for 2019 FW season as soon as the...
Paul, so sorry for the delay. Yesterday saw me putting out fires in every direction, but today is placid, so I checked inventory and there is no 42R in this style in stock but it is on backorder from Dec. ELC indicates the backorder not being completed on this size for a minimum of 30 days...
Yup, that was not destined to work out well, but we will be trying to offer something in 2020 that could offer an inclusion of sorts toward the style design, hides, color, etc.
Hey, thanks for mentioning that jacket and your inquiry. I do recall and wondered what happened. Good-old technology...
On the new Mechanic boots, you would go down a half size from a Brannock measure. We have all sizes in stock right now, but my crystal ball for future ordering has never worked very well. ;-)
There is really no way to tell between the old and the new other than by how they fit: I measure as a size 10D on the Brannock device and wear size 9 in the old style and size 9 1/2 in the new style.
Thank you very much, Paul. Hmmm, well, I'm 5' 9" tall and 150 lbs. and I wear the 40R, but your chest is bigger, so the 42R seems correct. I will let you know on Mon. what is in stock in the Perry as I will not be in the warehouse until then and our computer stock list may or may not be...
