Yes, it never hurts to be precise, if anything you flag with the manufacturer that they need to take you seriously. But then again you are not a real customer but an annoying one?
That's the take-away I have from @himelator 's message...
One of the reason I pay more for jackets, is the fact...
I am sorry, but you can not reproach @jeo 's action. He was very retrained and thoughtful in everything, from his order, to his communication, to the way he started this thread and answered questions.
Whether your way would have been better is anyone's guess
You think it is ok for him to make...
To keep the thread balanced, it would seem that with Himel you get:
- A great fit, his strongest point
- Good "ingredients", as in good leather and hardware
- A range of construction from badly put together to a good level. Nothing at the level of top makers
- Brand recognition or what he calls...
Yes, I remember that was said somewhere...
Yet Himel will also tell you that the stitching on a bespoke jacket can't be as good as on a stock jacket becuase each pattern is unique
Yeah, that exactly. I had been on the fence about getting one of his jackets, and the white deer skin jacket I mentionned earlier was one of the major turn off for me. If you talk the talk, you should walk the walk.
Edit: typo
With jackets that are as understated as the frobisher, every flaw will show more. Not dissimilar to oriental calligraphy where painitng a simple sign is considered more difficult than a complicated sign. In the latter you can hide the less ideal strokes in the whole while in the former, you see...
Glad to see this thread, it needed to be shown.
There is a consensus, if I read this right, that this is not an acceptable product from any of the makers here. The response is disappointing to put it mildly, but maybe not so surprising. There was a white deerskin jacket that had the wonky...
My straightforward was written as in "straightforward to reproduce". I should have been clearer
I am just wondering if we could get it made out of pictures only or would need an original no matter what.
The later model you posted looks completele different!
We have quite a few months to think about it, a LT A with d pocket as in similar to this one?
We have to wait for the new batch, there will be more than enough for a good number of orders lol
Which one exactly? Do you have pics?
You have just read my next move lol
When I mentioned having another grizzly in mind, it was for a navy HH with black cow-hair version. And yes it will be feasible as soon as Stuart restocks navy HH... I already asked :D
My idea was for a D pocket with the Trojan being the one I am currently...
