Monitor,
I left for two reasons. The first was that I felt like I was destined to be sitting at this desk doing what I felt was relatively unimportant work to society forever. Also once I had kids in my life I thought a lot more about what they see when they see me and I wanted them to shoot...
Here’s a shot of my 1976 XS650. I run a podcast called the lowlife chopper podcast where we talk to chopper guys from across the world and get into the details of their builds. Worth a listen for anybody in here who is into these types of bikes.
Monitor, I remember you from three years ago, we had talked about this jacket and several others. That office picture was mine, taken in the cubicle I left behind to pursue a welding career and I haven’t looked back (besides the jacket).
The jacket feels almost the same now as it did back then...
I feel the same way. That shine creates a really stark contrast when the jacket creases and visually I think it’s just the perfect combo. I had a 118 before which never had quite that same look
It’s hard to believe it’s been worn for five years though, it honestly looks about the same as it did three years ago. With a little more dirt and beer spilled on it haha.
Took it with me to the Deadbeat retreat up in Maine this past year, pretty wild chopper show if any of you are in the...
Hey guys. Checking back in after about 3 years since being on the forums. Left my desk job back in 2017 to become a welder and since I’m not at a computer anymore I rarely have access to one during the day. Wanted to share a few pics of this schott black stallion I bought back in 2015 and have...
Yes. The oil does shine it up a bit from it's usual duller finish. That said, it's not matte like naked cowhide would be, but I see the same level of sheen in the Aero jackets and that sheen is part of what I love about horsehide. I'd go with cowhide if a little shine is cosmetically displeasing...
They did indeed, before they stopped letting you combine the RETRO10 coupon w/ the 500 club discount these were available for $480. Crazy low for a jacket like this.
Those CX113's are awesome though, can't wait to see that one in a year or two.
Thanks!
As many before me have said on here, mistreating it is the only way to get it looking like it does now. I wear it on the motorcycle daily, in hot sun and pouring rain, I use it as a pillow when I camp, I cram it into my saddlebag or duffel when it's sweltering hot and can't keep it on...
Hey all,
It's been a LONG time since I've been on here, but I was just thinking about the forums the other day as I was giving my Black Stallion it's first conditioning. Just got back from a 1,500 mile motorcycle trip and got POURED on the whole way back. Gave the jacket a few days to dry out...
The back of the Aero dustbowl jacket is the type of thing I'm talking about. It's just looks so busy to me. So many pieces of leather sewn together. It's funny the way these things feel to different people. When it comes to leather chaps and vests, one piece of leather spanning a larger portion...
It seems I'm in the minority here but I actually like the back and the lack of overstyling. I was looking at some aero jackets yesterday on Thurston bros and some of the backs have so many pleats and elements that it looks far too busy. Almost like something someone would wear on an African...
I did see that, wondering if anyone has since seen a post about someone who purchased. Can't seem to find any reviews even though the product is out now.
Hey guys, happened to come across these while browsing reddit and wondered if anyone here owned one or had any thoughts on them. They're in stock now with no wait time and returns are accepted if the fit is wrong for a full refund. I'm considering it, sometimes my black stallion is a bit much...
Hey guys,
After much searching and deliberation, I think I'm about ready to pull the trigger on my first B-3. I just sold my Schott 740N on ebay as it wasn't getting the job done in the biting cold I get up here in the northeast living on ocean's edge.
The only thing I can't seem to find is...
Quick update guys, after reviewing the measurements I realized that this jacket must either be very old, a japanese remake of the US design, or indeed a knockoff.
The measurements for this size 42 are not quite a match to Schott's 42 listed on legendaryusa.
Ebay B3
Back Length: 25.5
Chest...
Good to know, I think I'll pull the trigger on that 42 and take my chances. At $250 USD it's not too much of a risk and legendaryusa lists the sizing chart which shows 26.5 across the chest on that size. As for the stallion, it's been getting worked over since the summer ended. Not to derail the...
Hey IXL, long time no chat! Hope all is well.
Do you happen to have your actual chest measurement? I wear a size 42 black stallion and my chest measures 43". Hoping I can fit into the 42 B3 as it sounds like I wouldn't need much underneath it to stay warm.
