Thank you. Since I've been wearing it, I've gotten comfortable with the sleeves and how they fit. Good tip on the belt buckle. My octopus is well-behaved, but I also have a very spiky life-size horny toad buckle that I can't wear with any sort of outerwear or while playing guitar. It's a danger...
Appreciate the feedback, everyone! I think I've been used to the super-short ladies jackets. I've also been wearing an extremely chunky octopus belt buckle that provides a little bit of a snag point. I should try it out with a flatter buckle and give it some more wears to see how I feel about...
Those sleeve zips were unexpected. One of the leather string pieces is missing, but I can hunt down a replacement. I hadn't realized that Schott leaves the sleeves open under the zips on the 626VN -- first one I've had like that! It is fun to have the zips rotated toward the top of the arms to...
So my nutty, factory-studded Perfecto showed up. Turns out Schott started with a 626VN, the "vintaged fitted cowhide leather" jacket. It's tagged as a medium, which I suspect might be meant to be a men's medium (though it was sold used as a women's and fits me like a women's), but it's a fitted...
I'm still in the learning and trial-and-error phase, but this site has been great for getting educated. I could see how it could become addictive, so I'm trying to sit back and learn more than buy (an effort which has been only partially successful). It helps that I can score some women's...
My $37 eBay mystery jacket that I'm convinced is a Lesco arrived, so it's getting some action today. Talon zips, 70s-ish larger collar, sturdy leather, very nice finishing details, including plaid fabric inside the pockets. Not much room for layering, but it's a fun option.
Picked up this mystery jacket for a song on eBay. Cheap enough to take a chance on the fit. The tag on the liner just says "Genuine Leather" but I suspect it's a Lesco.
I just ordered this Schott limited edition studded piece of insanity from ThredUp. Good return policy if it doesn't fit because it's supposedly a medium, but I'm not sure if it's a womens or a mens jacket. Let's see how long I can stand to have those laces on the cuffs...
I play in an Americana band and even I don't think I could get away with wearing that on stage. I'd probably get the fringe stuck in my guitar strings. It is spectacular, though. :)
New arrival. Took a shot at a weird Golden Bear on eBay labeled as "Slater and Son." Closer inspection reveals it is indeed a Golden Bear made in San Francisco. Unexpectedly, it's goat leather. I've never had a goat leather jacket before, but I'm digging the color. It's surprisingly weighty...
Thanks! It would be for me. :) I like heavy-duty jackets. My main squeeze right now is a Vanson cafe racer that squeaks when I move, but I've been on the hunt for cross-zip.
Thoughts on this ladies' Johnson Leathers? Measurements look pretty close to what I'm after. Seller sent me a considerably lower price offer ($145) on it than what's being asked. But no returns if it doesn't fit right.
