One of my favorite leathers for wallets & high wear gear is "elephant hide." I have wallets and a gunbelt rig made from elephant hide.

Steerhide wallet crafted in Japan. I just moisturized the leather with coconut oil, followed by Pecard Antique Leather Conditioner.
