A nice John Lee Hooker tune from 1965. Why bother with complicated lyrics, when simple, straight to the point ones work perfectly well........:D;)

Hi Worf.
That first jacket you highlighted was bought by me, and now looks like this:

A sunburst in blue would look very cool!
:D;)
Obviously, Parcelforce do other work, so yes, you can get deliveries from them that don't carry charges.
However, EVERY parcel deemed chargeable by HMRC is passed to Parcelforce for delivery (which usually means non-delivery. You have to get it from them), along with collection of the duty...
As I said, it's all or nothing.
Over the threshold - Parcelforce will come at you for Duty, VAT, and of course, their handling fee. And you often have to collect from the Parcelforce depot.
Under the threshold - Parcelforce are not involved. Your regular postman will simply deliver it. NO...
Perfect fit for you, Craig. Get it bought:D;)
PS - for our non UK FLers, "Bomber Jacket" in the UK generally means a cotton Harrington, rather than a leather flying jacket:D;)
Still think one of these would look nice in blue.
Photoshop won't let me get the exact colour I want, but hopefully, you get the idea. Alternatively, feel free to shoot me down in flames!!:D;)
Here is a standard CN22 label, from a parcel I received just today. No box for "returned items".
This parcel was delivered to me by a smiling postman, with NO request for any fees. If Parcelforce are involved, then it means both duty and vat are due to be paid (along with their handling fee)...
After 28 days (I believe), if the recipient hasn't paid the bill to parcelforce, they will return it to the sender. I would be having a hard word with the maker of this ill fitting jacket. And soon.
I guess they must be sized larger. I've had some "vintage" cut jackets where the high armholes have been really uncomfortable (Levi Type 1 - bloody impossible to move in!), but the Aero's are fine. I can, for example, drive (and I adopt pretty much a "leaning back with arms straight" driving...
Yup - figured as much (in fact I was just updating my last post). As I said, it doesn't detract from the jacket for me - I'm not a purist.
Thanks for the info, Andrew:D;)
Hi Simon
I normally take size 42, but I have sized down both my recent Aero jackets. Both this one and the Aeromarine are size 40s. Obviously, it depends how you want them to fit. Some folks like a looser fit than me.....
The lining does look a bit shiny in that pic, but in fact, it is...
The zip is a Conmar - which could well be incorrect, but the shape and fit was so nice, I was prepared to overlook that.
The 38-1711-P in Gary's book is a Talon - did Aero ever use Conmar, Andrew?
EDIT - looking into it a bit further, the 38-1711-P contract dated from 1937, and Conmar zips...
Here's one of Allen Toussaint's productions from 1961. Lee Dorsey had been singing for a while, with little success (he still had his auto-body shop as a full-time job), when he signed with Fury records in 1961, and went into the studio with Mr Toussaint producing. Here is the first of a great...
