A2 jacket fit - honest opinions requested

Looking at early photos the fit of an A-2 was all over the place, some trim some baggy. Both look fine to me, I'd go with the one you feel most comfortable in.

Friends of the good old leather-belts!

My all time favourite belt - very high quality, oak bark tanned leather by J Highet from Devon. Smells just like a new FQHH Aero. www.handmadeleatherbelts.co.uk

    RL Midweight Half-Belt

Hate selling through eBay so offers will be considered. Very comfortable medium weight half belt for the warmer weather.

Albert Richard Horsehide Half Belt Revisited

Length looks fine. It does look a tad snug across the chest but most vintage jackets tend to be on the trim side. Unless you want to wear it zipped up, which I really do, I'd just unzip and enjoy it.

New (to me) Himel Bros/Goodwear Californian

I've always loved the Ventura and I agree with the majority, it just needs the sleeves shortening. It's a beauty!

    RL Midweight Half-Belt

Up for sale is a very nice RL mid weight cowhide Half-Belt, with immense grain and lovely vintage details. With its slightly longer length, back pleat and button cuffs, the pattern is very similar to a 'Pioneer' and is fitted with quality antique brass hard wear, including D ring waist pulls...

New Aero 1930s half belt with modified back in battered tan horsehide

Welcome Mainspring - with the added body length and back pleat it does look more like a Pioneer than a 30's half belt, but very nice all the same and the fit is spot on.

    Aero Grand Theft Sale

Agree with this 100%, even a really basic breakdown of numbers of jackets in each size would help. If there's nothing in a 40" it would be a wasted journey for me :-(

    Aero Grand Theft Sale

That's right in holiday time. If I can persuade the misses to keep that weekend free, I might see you all up there.

Another very nice Teamster, great fit!

    NEW CALIFORNIAN VENTURA

I love the Ventura pattern, always have. This looks made to measure to me, not many could get away with 27 1/2" sleeves, it was clearly meant to be :-)

Thedi Leathers Shawl Collared A-1 Cossack

Stunning jacket handymike, I really like it and the fit looks great. I've never even considered shawl collared jackets but this I could definitely wear. Sounds like it's heavy but quite soft, my kudu has a similar feel, I bet you'll wear it a lot. Definite keeper!

    ELMC Roadster - Review

ProteinNerd - Indeed it was a compliment, this style does suit you very well. I have 20 years on you so I tend to gravitate to more classic patterns, half belts, Highwayman etc.

    ELMC Roadster - Review

Very nice jacket, it's a young mans style and it suits you well. Wish I was 30 years younger :-)

    Goodwear Leathers, the waiting starts...

Don't tell him Pike :) Seriously, from my limited experience, I'd say Johns jackets (GW) are things of beauty, just very refined.

The Flat Head Single Rider's Jacket (and a type 2)

I don't own a racer but I appreciate the style. Looks very well made from here and the fit is just right. I'd say it's a keeper!

    Himel Frobisher

I like this a lot - trim fitting, well made, understated half-belt. I love to see a jacket that drapes cleanly from the neck and shoulders, no ugly creases running down the front panels, a sure sign of a very well tailored pattern. A definite winner, if you can afford it, ouch!

    Freewheelers/Bootleggers Twin Peaks

Very fine goat hide and fits like a second skin. You might need to stay away from chocolate eggs this Easter :-)
