I just got a Connolly Halfbelt a short while back. Really beautiful leather - I see now why it was used for the seats of Rolls Royces and Spitfires. Beautiful and tough leather.

Very nice. I spoke with Mike a few years ago about a Panama, but he wasn't making them in my size (63 cm.- 7 7/8) at that time. I don't quite remember if it was because he didn't have the block or he didn't have a straw piece large enough. I'll have to try him again soon.
The theory on shrinkage that makes most sense to me is the one that attributes it to the tightening of the stitching in the sweatband due to the salt from sweat drying and contracting the fibers. Living in the tropics, I've seen a bit of shrinking in all my hats: my hat stretcher gets some use.
I can't imagine how another jacket could be a better fit: that looks perfect on you. Plus, I'd wait to sell it until next November or so, when the first icy blast descends from on high - you could probably double your asking price.
