Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t knocking your opinion. I’m just used to seeing people predominantly wearing t-shirts under leather jackets, and googled it to see if I was imagining things or not. And you should use a VPN :D
It seems that a regular t-shirt under a leather jacket is the de facto norm now...
Google “perfecto” and in 10 pages of results only one person is wearing anything but a t-shirt under their leather jacket.
Google “men’s leather jacket” and in 10 pages of results, again, only one solitary bloke...
That’s cool, we’re all entitled to different opinions. I strongly dislike the appearance of turtleneck jumpers, but that’s probably got to do with hating anything touching my throat.
Not even tiny logos on the left hand side of the chest? I actually *slightly* prefer that to completely plain t-shirts, for two reasons; It looks to me like something is missing if it's absent, and secondly, it invokes the look of own-brand $2 crap in many people's eyes. (rightly or wrongly)...
Some peculiarities when you compare that tag size 40 jacket to the tag size 44 jacket (a Cafe Racer with a regular collar- a Sheene, right?) I was sent to try a couple of years ago:
46" chest, 35" waist, long torso.
I'm fine with t-shirts that flatter my physique- I don't want a boxy shapeless thing with a 50" circumference around my waist. Why go to the gym all the time only to wear a sack? 24" pit to pit, with a 23" opening is fine. High arm holes and relatively tight...
The Himmel one looks ok, but gosh, they're usually terrifyingly bad- particularly with long fur. Let's not sugar coat it- this is a divisive item, and it will scare away the opposite sex.
Sizing on premium retro workwear t-shirts is harder for me to get right than on bargain t-shirts. To get a t-shirt long enough for my torso I'd often end up with 25 inch pit to pit (this bit isn't too bad, I need 24"), shoulders that are too wide, low arm holes, extra long sleeves that are...
Try to exchange it, I'd say. Shoulder seams are sliding off the edge of your shoulder, sleeves appear too wide and far too long, collar looks a bit off, and the jacket length is excessive.
And yes, I baby new t-shirts and the priciest t-shirts I have, especially if they're light colours. Older dark t-shirts take the brunt of any potentially damaging wear.
15 years ago I had a wardrobe full of white t-shirts... now I tend to prefer colours. Dark blue frequently, sometimes black, but I have a variety of maroons and pinks too, and a few patterns. I like a mixture of collar types as well. And I like 100% cotton, even when it gets stupidly hot.
They still make some nice stuff, which may surprise everyone- I bought a lovely western shirt there a year ago. Great fabric, perfect athletic cut, and a good price. But most of their offerings are dismal- couldn’t even find an acceptable sweatshirt, and their old sweatshirts were absolutely top...
Had I known they were going to drop their quality so low, I’d have bought a load more of their old t shirts. Their best stuff 10 years ago was second to none in terms of quality. They’re aiming for a different market now and in the UK they’re selling for about 25% of their peak price, so at...
Wow, loads of recommendations to check out- thanks lads!
In terms of the cheap ones, will definitely check out the Kirkland (Cosco) shirts... I bought their socks a few times and was really impressed.
I live in China and I spotted the same thing. Why we now revere that construction and...
