I'd have to disagree a little with that... When I look at TFH it's not suitable for a muscular V shape, as the P2P is narrow compared to the wide shoulders. A skinny guy with broad shoulders would suit TFH, perhaps?
Edit: check out the size chart: wide shoulders vs chest...
Insomnia's jacket looks awesome... I was referring to the jacket the OP referenced. Insomnia's jacket's shoulders might sag on a different frame, however, though they don't in him. By the way, judging by the jackets you've shown on here, you're got a good eye for selecting very good jackets.
The RMC jacket looks great. The Flathead jacket has shoulders that appear too wide, which looks a little messy in comparison, IMO.
At that price point you'd expect an exceptional jacket, and honestly, I'd want a jacket that was custom fit to me.
If it feels dry, it needs rehydrating, and I'd use an oily conditioner to do the job. By the look of it, I'd personally use something that would deeply penetrate the hide, even if it doesn't feel especially dry!
Let me know how you get on, please... I'm very tempted to order from Aero. I planned to a few years ago, but I ended up moving to the other side of the planet to somewhere too warm for frequent jacket use, where I couldn't justify buying another jacket... back in the UK now, though :D
When people refer to the shoulders of a jacket here, is it exclusively the width of the very top of the shoulders they are referring to? The back of the shoulders is getting very close to the pit to pit measurement...
For me the pit to pit measurement is far more important than the shoulders-...
Does anyone here NOT agree, out of interest? It wasn't great that the leather strip was a rip off upsell at £50 back in the day, but having had that strip and not having had that strip, I'd much rather have it. That's the main area for wear and tear on lining, it seems. Regarding sagging, my...
There must be more to it than the neck being too tight... no offence, but both the collar and the area around the collar look mushed and mangled in your front on fit photo. My neck is quite thick and I wear 17.5 dress shirts, so unsurprisingly I've owned jackets I couldn't do up at the throat...
Thanks for the reply. How many years did it take to deform that badly? Were you the only owner? I've never seen another collar (and surrounding area) appear to have deformed so badly.
Late to the party here, but found the thread interesting. I need a large-ish P2P of maybe 24 or 24.5" to be comfortable, because my chest and lats are large, but my waist is only 33" so that's a big drop. The shoulder measurement in jackets I can fit in is all over the place, but cosmetically an...
One last thing about the hangers potentially causing creases.... remember the hanger is going to be 'wearing' the jacket infinitely more than you will be....
Guys, I was just discussing the intended/supposed purpose of those hangers that most of you seem to dislike! I'm not so bloody stupid as to think that jackets won't crease or our body shapes are not like hangers etc etc. Crikey.
Sorry, you missed my point, that's not what I was suggesting at all. Sure creases can be made by design, but the long vertical creases to many of us don't look like an attractive crease. Intentional creases look 'right', while that crease looks a bit 'off'.
Similarly, I also didn't suggest...
