Dubow 20960 test jacket in a larger 46. This was a jacket that I bought from Mark at Norshor Leather last summer and have never worn. I bought a civilian jacket from Mark and it gets all the use. Check out the original listing here. Price is $325 shipped in the continental US...

A friend has a pair of bespoke denim from SOSO Clothing in Sweden and they're very unique. They are also pretty cost effective (currently US$150/pr or US$225/2 pr) with free worldwide shipping. I think these prices include VAT so US$120/pr or US$180 for jeans shipped outside the EU.
SOSO's...
Here's the government's CPI calculator - http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl.
Apparently, $90 in 1974 is equivalent to $430 in 2014. Since leather jackets are going up much quicker than the rate of inflation it'd be financially irresponsible not to buy one now if you have the cash...
Nice find and another of Jan's great looking jackets.
For the OP - I'd go with with the ANJ-3 over the A-1 if you're only looking to get one jacket. The popular solution around here is to buy both.
Agree completely. Here's a shot from Goodwear Leather showing some of this detail. You might want to e-mail Aero to see if they'd even attempt to make this jacket in FQHH and how they feel it would wear.
I think what you're looking for is the ANJ-3 vs M-422 as mentioned. Here's a Gibson and Barnes model - http://www.gibson-barnes.com/prod-293974/Anj3-Usaaf-And-Usn.html. I don't think either of these jackets would work in FQHH because of the thickness and stiffness of it. The wool knits would...
Boyo - what are your measurements and how did Gustin's fit guide compare to what you received?
FWIW - I ordered a pair of Super Heavy 34 straights from Gustin and they fit perfectly. Their fit guide was right on but this was as small as I was comfortable going. I then ordered a pair of 35...
I've been trolling for a B-10 for a long time and it's unfortunate Aero isn't making theirs any more.
The Pike Brothers B-10 runs HUGE. Check out there measurements here - http://pikebrothers.com/product/usaaf-b-10-flight-jacket/.
CapesOfWrath - really like the jacket. Think you made excellent choices in spec'ing this out. Re: the red stitching - could you go buy a Phase One IQ 80mm kit and get some decent pictures with a ruler in the frame for stitch counting. Seriously, I have a red/brown stitching with a similar...
I'd like some perspective from you guys on what you're talking about here because it seems like we have Griff = never wash and Butte = wash daily.
I wash my jeans before they start getting funky. This might be every 5-15 wears unless I'm doing manual labor. Griff's right in that if you...
I think you'd be very happy with jackets from either Bill Kelso or Aero and it will really come down to what leather you prefer.
I think the Aeronaut in a brown Badalassi leather with dark red stitching would look pretty amazing - check out this color combination in a Goodwear A-2 HERE...
I'd expect exactly the opposite. With the shortage of shell cordovan (all leather really) due to exploding demand in Asia and other emerging markets AE will likely have a price increase and marketing push explaining the price increase is due to increased quality, more expensive manufacturing...
RRL very occasionally have sales so you can get them in your price point - they retail for $250, I believe. I own a couple pair of RRL's but they all fit a little slim.
You can also try unbranded - http://theunbrandedbrand.com/ Their marketing/price point is to give a quality selvedge...
I think Aero might have put whatever size tag on the jacket they thought the client wanted at one point. My first HWM attempt was bought used labeled a 44 and had a 27" pit-to-pit. I need a 25" or 26". My second was labeled 42 and had a25" pit-to-pit but was just too short for me. Now I have...
I totally agree with both of these. The problem with sizing down a HWM is that the shoulders are narrow relative to the chest measurement. It's important, because it is a boxy design, to ensure that the shoulders and length are correct for your frame. If you want a neat jacket the HWM is a...
OP - beautiful Aero Cossack. I love the character the CXL FQHH develops. Hope you have good weather in SD and can wear it around. I really like the Langlitz as well but it will lose some casual use since it does suggest strongly that it's a riding jacket. Sorry the fit on the Langlitz isn't...
