I'm thinking any attempt to cover holes would look like a weak attempt to cover the holes and would look far worst than left as is. Patches, removed patches, scuffs and scratches are part of the jacket's history and patina. Leave as is or send it down the road.
Buying expensive leathers and focusing on the most minor of imperfections is a very costly way to cope with an OCD condition. I will look for this jacket in the classifieds
I took a rode trip through California which included time in the big metro areas of LA and SF. I was a bit unnerved and surprised by the motorcycle activity known as splitting lanes. I guess it is legal but also believe it is a very precarious practice by bikers. I do not ride because I believe...
I agree about the heavier zips. Most of my outer work wear has #10YKK on coats, jackets and bib overalls. They have been bulletproof. I have some too, with the polymer zips and they also have been flawless. My JL café jacket has a #10ykk. Smooth and easy to work. Off topic but I prefer the snap...
The p-51s are very cool. I prefer the sound of the round engines. The F4-U Corsair is my favorite. My antique favorite would be the Staggerwing Beech. Like flying a Cadillac. TXFlyGuy, great project you have going. The best to you.
I have a custom shirt of moosehide made for me by a Athabaskan woman, from a small village. This shirt is beautiful and fits like a second skin. It is unlined and I've worn it a few times over the 30 years I've had it. For me lining is a must. Remote possibly that an unlined vest might work but...

I run against the current here. I have a JL N-200 and have never cycled the chest zip much less used it. I have zipper hand warmer pockets which I use for commonly carried items keys, phone etc. Were I to get another I would forgo the chest pocket(s). I do not ride and rarely zip my leather...
Alligator is a bit much for my tastes. I did see a quality jacket in black alligator. Talk about a bold look. I couldn't pull that look off, with that jacket, on Halloween.
This thread exemplifies the problem with asking an opinion on the internet. Everyone qualified or not has an opinion. Now what I see is the OP is discounting the opinion that should weight the most and that is his own opinion. You will never be happy wearing any jacket when you think everyone is...
I have two Hillside products 1) basic horside vest: the hide is very uniform throughout and is very well constructed 2) a jean jacket in their naked cowhide. This jacket is substantial and also well constructed. Though not in the fashion arena of say Aero. Hillside products offer good bang for...
