They're super cool. I've bought two that were very similar so I sold the one that was a hair shorter. It was probably overall better condition, but it's a short jacket to begin with, so that extra half inch or so is big. The poofy upper arm is funky. It's not something I'd wear every day...
Super nice. Ain't going to lie, been going back and forth between this and the other ELMC, a Californian. If either were in brown, I think at least one of them would be coming my way. This one reminds a lot of my Ridley. I need this or another black jacket like a hole in the head. But it's...
As a seller, there's a catch 22. If you do the PP invoice which offers the buyer protection, a "scammer" buyer could buy your jacket, claim he never got it, get a refund and you're out the jacket.
So there's some chicken and egg here. As a buyer, I'd never buy anything from any new poster...
For the sake of others, if you post a WTB, I wouldn't do business with anyone unless they have long history here. Or of course, if it's not PPFF. Sad it's come to that, but they've gotten a few people here and it just sucks.
First off, top 3 user names on here
Jacket is great. Could it be like a half size smaller for an even more perfecter fit, sure, but it's great as is.
epic. I've been on the hunt for a brown suede something too. I kind of want something in-between a type 3 and maybe something slightly longer. Not a lot out there in the used market. I really like Todd Synder Dylan jacket but jeez $1k. This is really nice though. Congrats!
36 chest, you need 141 size 34 or 641 size 36. That's my advice if you want a snug, tshirt only style fit (which is typical for cafe racer style). This style from Schott has deep gussets, almost action back, so you can go tighter with the measurements. If you think you might put on a few...
I've thought about sending this to Dena to "convert" into a more Mulholland style, basically replace the waist band from CHP and sort of connect the dots from the side gussets,, without the belt loops, etc. Will still probably have a sliver of the side gussets otherwise I think it'll be too...
Path of least resistance first.
1. Wipe down with damp towel. Hang in sunlight for a few days
Re-Evaluate
2. Spritz with vinegar/water mix and hang in sunlight again
Re-Evaluate
3. Try hand washing the liner first. A lot of the smell might be trapped in the liner.
Re-Evaluate
4. Bucket or...
well, to be fair, that is the way to measure ptp, but, and it's a big but, it doesn' work on Cals and probably Indian Rangers because of the quick taper design. Like you said, to get true chest, you probably need to take the measurement a half inch or so further down.
Bummer. I know the pain. Thank goodness the one you sold me last week turned out for me. I'm taking photos tomorrow. Got a wash and a condition. It's spectacular.
Anyway, buy from Fiver with confidence. Good dude. Fast and well packed shipping.
As the weather has warmed up, starting to grab this one more. A lot of the "pinetree" green has darkened. With some more wears and sun, think this one is going to age gloriously.
FYI, on the 613. Do you ride? If you don't I wouldn't suggest getting it because of how you're reacting to the 141 break in. Once your 141 breaks in, you're going to love it. It'll take the 613 ten years to get like that. It's a good riding jacket because of the top coat. So if you don't...
It's hard to tell from the photos, but I think the jacket is too big for you. 141 is super hard to fit right. I spent $200 with a tailor recutting it and I wished I never bothered and just returned it and bought something else.
The shoulders look off. The crease lines, well, I don't want to...
you got the right size. 141 is comically oversized but with your build, it works. The gussets are deeper than with the cross zips, almost half action back kind of thing and you got the footballs too for mobility. So you could push a 38 if you wanted to go for a more tighter cafe look, but I...
Heck of a day to start playing around with a tripod. Need to get my marks down lol. But damn it's addicting.
The taming of the 613sh wild horse is coming along. Big difference this past week after a couple of soaks and couple big sweaters underneath to open it up. Next time I'd buy a 42 and...
Looks like early mid 70s? http://www.redcloud.co.jp/detail/lee.htm
edit: I've owned 2 from roughly same period. One I sold because it was slightly shorter than the other. I like them a lot, but overall a little too short for me (6'0 foot tall) and the bicep arms are really poofy. I kept one...
Amazing. I think this is best plan. The prob with pictures is you're relying on them to fill in the blanks (arm hole width, biceps, any sort of transition measurement,, etc) and that's not their forte. But if they can copy, now nothing is left to chance.
I've been looking for a nice...
Which Eastman did you buy? They have one on their ELMC line (concho, I think) that is fire. Less bulky etc and I think they use thinner sheepskin. But that jacket is grail for me.
I have an Aero b3 with prob 20mm and a toys Mccoy with prob 12-15mm. I can tell you the difference is...
