I tried one on at the LA store. They are gorgeous. I had this one and 613sh on a wish list to scratch off that perfect perfecto look. The SH popped up first, otherwise would have been totally happy to land one of these eventually. Great price. Great jacket. Not the usual boxy Schott fit...
when I first saw it, my first thought was don't sell it. Such a cool photo that memorializes the jacket. But if you're absolutely sure it's just going to sit in the closet and no one will appreciate it, my gut was like this thing is worth $1800 (so like $2200ish Ebay).
I've seen a few J100s...
With 39 chest, you can comfortably get into a modern 38. Probably not a lot of room for layering though, more punk rockish fit.
You have to find out though how old the second hand 38 is. If it's from the 70s or 80s, there's a good chance it's smaller than newer ones. Ask for measurements...
I had c2 from early 80s. Amazing jacket. Was too short for me at 6'0. Trust me, I tried and tried. Hardest jacket for me to sell. Glorious monster brass talon, broken in grainy comp weight, felt like I was being perma hugged.
ah man, I just bought that same BS Sherpa. Otherwise I'd grab for sure. highly, highly recommend. Shit, I might still buy it to have one for back up or to get more faded.
spectacular. I've been wearing the hell out of my Route 66 teacore and I have no signs of breakthrough yet. But I think I'm getting close. Texture, grain, overall feel, etc. have evolved incredibly though.
The a2 fits on here lately have been top notch. Gives us hope on this style that usually is not so friendly. Heres mine, hardly authentic or to spec, but I love everything about it.
Nothing is locked in until he contacts you that he's ready to start building. So all you're doing is pulling the ticket at the meat counter. You can change your mind 100 times before then.
Not necessarily. For sure Schott has used Talon. I've had at least 2 or 3 jackets that had them as original zippers. You can write to Jeri at Schott for more info, but I don't think it would be out of the norm if they used some Scovills. And even if it was replaced, at least you got a...
LOL, one of the best lines on here ever LOL.
I just rewatched it a few nights ago, maybe for the 50th time. Of course, now I'm armed with all this jacket knowledge. Wow what amazing pieces. The Irvings, the B3s, think I saw a B6 or D1. Obviously a lot of chore coats and of course the famous...
Yo buddy! Unfortunately no signs of any size tags. If it was on that white tag, everything on that has long been faded away. I've seen some models that have the size right under the main tag, but no signs of that ever being here. It is probably a 42, maybe a 44 since it's about a 22 ptp...
Oh boy this thread. There's one last leather jacket I'm reserving the right to buy otherwise I've pretty much stopped looking, and that's a redskin D1, probably size 40 as well. Although @s4rmark looks really good in that seal brown one too. But I'm on the other side of the equation and want...
you probably need custom sizing. But the Aero Cafe Racer (not the Board Racer) is a good starting point because it's made for V shape. But you probably need a 44 or 46 size for chest/shoulder with a 40 size for body and bottom hem. Good thing is they're in Scottland so should make things...
