Ordering my first leather jacket - a sunburst - probably Aero

To be honest a little bit of photoshop editing can make a world of difference. I cut out a half belt onto some other jackets and I got and idea of how it looks like. Paintshop editing isn't that difficult. I like the bilt 2 but I'll make it without the seams below the stab pockets. Yup...

Thank you so much guys and it's unanimous... Goat it is for the leather for me. Apparently the kiko goat is reared for meat in New Zealand and is another source of larger goat skins. Its the second largest goat there is, even bigger than the kamori goat from Pakistan. As for shoe polish I was...

Ordering my first leather jacket - a sunburst - probably Aero

Thanks again Carlos840, After some more research, the wear is something I'll have to deal with so I guess whatever I get I'll just have to learn to live the patina like on my brass razors lol.

Hi Dan, This jacket doesn't seem to show the same wear. I found our that some leather is what the call tea core. For myself I rather have a bit more uniform a wear patten.

Thanks Seb Lucas, I guess I'm OK with some age showing but I've seen a few jackets that look more than their age too soon. Btw, does FQHH in brown age like the above picture? Many thanks

Ordering my first leather jacket - a sunburst - probably Aero

Personally I don't have any coin in the game for either companies as I'll buy from whoever makes the best jacket for me for the right price. To put things into perspective, Hugo Boss made uniforms for the SS n Wehrmacht, Mercedes made vehicles for the Nazis and most Japanese companies had their...

I do get where you're coming from but if no one made any changes to certain designs we'll still be wearing stuff from the middle ages. Granted that most here have a great respect for history but when I see stuff from Y2 or double helix I see that they have taken tradition but made it just as...

You're welcome Dan, They do make slimmer styles like the Sea Biscuit. I found this on thread some time ago and it comes from Thurston Bros a is distributor for Aero. As you can see they are able to make some designs slimmer in what they call premium cut. I like the Maxwell but the Klondike...

Ordering my first leather jacket - a sunburst - probably Aero

To each his own but I find it more eleborate than most of the other jackets. I'm considering a Mulligan or Klondike in a slim fit. The Long half belt is also in the mix as these styles look good a little longer which is what I'm looking for in a travel jacket. Either good luck with getting...

I'm similar too in that I prefer buttons and I'm discussing the options with Holly (Aero) and Debs (Simmons) on what I want in a travel jacket. Basically I second what the guys are saying in that if you're going to go w buttons choose a design that is build from the start w buttons like the...

Both the Maxwell and the Mulligan are great jackets and at the top of my list for my travel jacket, with a few mods :) I saw it a while ago but I'm a 40 42, 44 is just too big for me... Cry

Thanks ton312, I see and many thanks, I've heard some manufacturers lay wool first than have a cotton lining that way it's warm wo the itchiness of wool. Thanks for the info

Going to Osaka Japan next month. Where to buy leather jackets?

Hi Guys, This thread is amazing and it is perfect as I too am looking for a travel jacket although, I'll likely hunt for a 2nd jacket since the 1st hand prices are rather out of reach for me. The jacket you bought is really awesome looking! Colin G i'm glad you recovered in time and had a...

New member needing info on a nice travel leather coat/jacket

Fifty150,now I understand the need for something like that but if had to do the full 9 yards it'll be in a duster like this. Thanks guys for the friendly exchange however, I'm unfamiliar with any of those brands but, I'll take note if what has been said. Fifty150, I don't think I was...

New member needing info on a nice travel leather coat/jacket

handymike, thanks for the links n tips. I have a few such travel jackets from uniqlo, LLBean etc so I thought it time for a leather jacket. The links are great n I'll reach out to the sellers. One might be too small for me as I have a jacket that's 110 cm at the chest and it fits albeit with...

New member needing info on a nice travel leather coat/jacket

Not sure if I'll be able to pull those off lol. One Mike make me look like a gangster while the other looks like I came off the set of Hellraiser. A longer jacket isn't necessary but having worn battle fatigues the standard length is one like that of a field jacket. When I first thought...
