Im sorry to say it but on my jacket its only the front that has gotten shorter and the back is the same.
This is due to creases in the bottom border of the jacket. I suspect it matters what one does with the jacket but for me its the sitting and also the using of jeanspockets that has made it...
I advice against jumping and sitting and rolling the jacket since IMHO the coolest broken in stuff is the ones that gets the wearpoints only from natural wear or atleast wear in the same areas that it will from natural circumstanses. Like wetting the arms and moving them up and down many times...
Its also gonna fit so much better after some wear since it will mold to you.
Both arms and the body will actually also mold, if the body is a bit long it will scrunch up some in the bottom and end up "shorter" after some years wear :)
Offcourse, but I dont have only period correct clothes in the rest of my wardrobe. I have an Aero 30´s halfbelt that is 24.4" and that is pushing it for me and I really have to think twice on what jeans I put on with it.
So for me this jacket is perfect, but hella short :D
I own 3 Aeros, but If I ever outgrew my Highwayman I would get anotherone just like it. I would get a new Highwayman if I were you, its the perfect goto jacket!
Mine looks like its been through a world war compared to yours :D
First of all, I dont think you will ever get a Highwayman to fit like it does when you pinch it.
It should be closer with a jacket that fits tho.
Im having a hard time to see where your shoulders are, but the shoulder seam should not be outside your shoulder - if it is, then you can size...
Unfortunately it wont fit me at all. Its tighter then my CR while being to long in the arms and maybe to long in the back aswell for my taste.
I was seriously considering this tho, it looks very nice with the lining and the cool collar.
This was actually in the war, worn on my grandfather - a navigator on a bomber.
As for amazing stories: once they supposedly flew lost because of the clouds, and when it finally cleared up they saw a significante fleet that they didnt know about, so they turned around and told about...
Im a 40 chest but my Highwayman is a 38.
My 30´s HB is a 40 and my CafeRacer is a 40.
So sixing down could help, but I think its also has alot to do with physique, if you have broad shoulders and trim waist then its gonna be loose in the waist since the design is square. Personally I am kinda...
