German Stetson (Mayser) Royal "Jasper Steam". I guess Jasper is the model and steam the color. I would say 70's. Soft and maluable felt with bonded edge. One of my (many) favorites. Borsalino Extra Superiore in Bronzo. The ribbon has a slight color gradient in Aligi. Nice hand, very maluable, with stitched brim. More details in the "Borsalino Brotherhood". my beautiful daughter- Steinbockhase

Did you actually get this nice Panama for three Dollars? If so, fantastic bargain. I missed out on the same model in size 7 3/8 just a few days ago on eBay; it went for 58,- Euro. BTW yours is exactly my size :-)- Steinbockhase

This is a very nice "Stratoliner" clone, fairly soft, nice to touch velt and bonded edge. Don't know if "Danubius" is the model or brand. Not much left of the original tag. I presume from 1950-60's.- Steinbockhase

"2X" ... of what for a straw hat? Is it for straw content, weave-count, quality or price? Any kind of "X" without stating what it describes is misleading marketing :) P.S. I'm just jealous, because I don't own any hats with an "X" :-)- Steinbockhase
