    Post New Hats Here!

German Stetson Premier (Mayser) with soft fuzzy hair in beige-brown. My guess is perhaps 1970's. Now a wedding present for a good friend's wife. see also: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/german-stetson-hats-produced-under-license.58930/page-2#post-2561188

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

The ebay seller advertised it as a bowler/derby, but it was actually a semi-stiff open crown. Unfortunately I didn't take a "before" photo. I am quite sure it was orginally a Lobbia with their typical center-dent; like often seen with other Borsalinos of this period. My size range is noted in my...

Why not, if all the other factors like brim etc. are equal to a typical pork pie? How would you know what the original form and crown shape of a used vintage hat was, if the pre-owner did some re-shaping?

Interesting story. For what it's worth; this is what Wikipedia has on Pork Pie: "The first hat to be called a pork pie was a hat worn primarily by British and American women from around 1830 through to about 1865. It consisted of a small round hat with a narrow curled-up brim, a low flat or...

My advice: Look for any quality felt hat with a very short flat brim in the color combination you like. If it's a good fur-felt you can always change / hand crease the crown to any shape you desire, just using some steam and patience. I have already converted several "Trilby's" and "Stingy...

Bravo. That is a very special and unique summer felt. I love all those venting details. Have you noticed the difference wearing the hat?

Blue? Probably only in direct sunlight. I have a Resistol in "midnight blue" that is just as dark.
