@mayserwegener I intend to visit the German hat museum in Lindenberg some day.
http://www.deutsches-hutmuseum.de/
I know there used to be several hat companies in the region over many decades.
Do you know if there are any of them are still producing there now?
When sharing the eBay offer, I thought it was more or less obvious that it is not a true hard bowler / derby.
I have already bought some "open" Homburgs like that before; in fact even a German made Stetson Homburg in grey, marked as Excellent other than Imperial (I doubt there are noticeable...
ATTENTION !!!
Just found this on eBay Europe:
"Vintage Imperial Stetson BOWLER HAT Failsworth Hats Ltd 1954 Black Made In England - 7 3/8"

Wow, like a virgin :)
"never creased, never curled!" ... sounds like she never had any fun :-)
Are you going to maintain her virginity :)
In reference to the recent discussion in "ask a question ..."
The debate between "Preservation vs. Customization" is a battle you can neither win nor lose, because both sides have good plausible arguments to make their case.
Like mosts debates between Republicans and Democrats ... no side is totally right or wrong :)
BTW: I actually like that cartoon ...

Okay, for whom is the "preservation" done for?
The photos and information here on the lounge is accessible to and ultimatly intended for vintage enthusiasts and the public, or not so?
I can listen and still not agree :)
I have a cousin who buys really old beat up...
Okay, for whom is the "preservation" then done for?
I know for whom my hat customization and modernization is done for .... me and my public appearance ... and that's what counts for me :)
Preservation vs. Customization and Modernization
... something you can argue about with many things.
i.e. vintage cars, old buildings, antique furniture, etc.
Okay, I understood it was about grabbing and holding the hat at the pinch.
I admit I tend to do that as well sometimes; but very very gently :-)
I think felt damage depends more on how "sharp" or "pointy" the pinch is made, where exactly you grab it and how much pressure you apply.
Of course...
By the great amount of hats in Max's collection (same goes for the most of us here), the actuall head-time for each individual hat is so low it is very unlikely you will ever experience fatigued and weakend felt caused by a few hours of wearing :)
