Love this! It's really different in a good way and so unique to you that it's plain fantastic. JL can really do creative stuff if they need to and this is a perfect example.
Nailed everything down with nice touches throughout. I think you got dealt with the best looking goatskin they have, that looks like it has a nice sheen to it and lovely grains too. Is it squeaky? Premium black goatskin? Looks like a thicker hide. Congrats man.
Can't go wrong with either black or brown cxl, check your current wardrobe to see which color will be easier to pair with whatever you currently own. If you want an easy wearing jacket right off the bat that will show immediate character with a few wears then go with the blackened brown vic...
Bummer. Any idea what it is that's lacking with 5* leather dyeing technique? I think the hides itself are of good quality but their processing could be better.
True, the lighting could be better or better yet take the photo out in the sun. Hopefully they can produce better leather in house or atleast offer Leathers from tried/tested tanneries
The CR is a little too big on the upper back/shoulders and the kidney panel on the Aero always ruin the look for me. The half belt looks great overall aside from the bottom hem needing a little trim then it's golden
I wonder who snagged the sportsclad? Hope it is one of the regulars here.
*edit: hope it's one of the regulars here. Sorry not sure what happened there.
the regular cxl and tumbled version is the same, you really can't go wrong with either one. If you want a grainy hide to begin with go for tumbled but if you want to do all the work yourself go for the regular cxl. If you will only have one leather jacket go for CXL, it will only get better with...
Looks like a great fiT! Glad someone finally ordered a horsehide from them. Can you pls post close up photos of the hide? Is it corrected grain?
Can't wait to see the final product. Maybe I'll re dye my black deerskin from them too so it's not as flat.
Wow, you can probably use that for boots
That's great info about the Aero trucker, maybe that's why they only offer that pattern in a midweight leather now. Could be a handful in a stiff/heavy cxl or similar hide. I think Badalassi would work for that kind of pattern, although going for JL couldn't hurt too and I'm sure the cut will...
I saw that and leather is so nice, lots of pull up with different tones of color it's amazing. Im imagining the new leather Seal Kelpie will look like this after some wear (maybe?) because it's teacore. The only thing I don't get with the Aero trucker is the cut of the jacket pattern, the listed...
Welcome here @Leiderman. I hope you get to acquire what you are looking for. I don't have any knowledge about shearling styled jackets (too warm where I live) but I can page @King B who has a great affinity for them. All the best, good luck.
Wow! That looks superb on you man! Can't beat that time induced charm and character. I really like the mustache action with the collar! Congratulations Marc.
