looks mid 30s to me Freddie. even if it was from 1928 i don't think there'd be any discernible difference from a 30s suit (assuming it's a wide legged trouser, not a narrow pre-bag trouser). in other words, it could be late 20s, but i don't know how it could be proved except for a tailor's date...
gents, this thread is about suiting fabrics, not suits.
discussions of modern vintage-inspired suits here please: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?66098-Show-us-your-vintage-inspired-suits
i don't think it's specifically a riding jacket, but could have been used as such (most hacking jackets had a centre vent).
many non-riding jackets of the 30s had similarly close set buttons. here's the listing...
that's what i'm seeing too (i don't think it's a ladies jacket though). i was hoping you were going to buy it so we could see some better shots of it worn. ;)
this (probably orphaned) tweed jacket sold yesterday on U.S. ebay. i'm certain it's British.
the only other British suit jackets i've seen with curved pockets belonged to the Duke of Windsor (he had at least two).
i haven't seen the other colour... (EDIT: i have... in the photo of you with the bandana. i like that colour too. bit more 'French workwear' blue).
where did you find your's ?
