Just worked through a little ebay snafu here.... I had bought a Stetson Gun Club hat for a decent casual around town hat. The box came in today and the wrong hat was in the box!. The one I got was a nicer Stetson silverbelly 4x beaver James Dean Foundation hat that is an actual, for real 7 1/4...
Supposed to be sunny today here.. thought I wear something a bit larger than usual. So the old Akubra Lawson gets the call this morning. Have had this hat since about 2008 if I remember correctly... Its faded a bit lighter shade over time, but has held up really nicely. It was my first Akubra...
Perhaps someday, somewhere, somehow a bunch of us should meet up at a nice patio bar and make that part of the world a little brighter with a bunch of distinguished gentlemen wearing nice hats and some of these georgous shirts!
After the Stratoliner at the coffee shop, I DID change my mind and pop on the Stetson/ Miller with the new ribbon for a grocery run. Figured I didnt go to the effort of a new ribbon just to sit on the wall lol. Oh well its pretty common for me to change my mind and do two or even three hats...
Felt like a Stratoliner morning! One of these days Im going to do something about the ends of this ribbon... its always had a mind of its own and refuses to lay down flat on the brim lol

Stuck on the...
Alrighty then..... Got a brown ribbon made and I think its WAY better than the black. I do believe this one will bet sewn in! Sun and shade to show in extremes

Ive firmly believed for years that there are about a million mosquitos per capita anywhere on the Texas coast up into east Texas and Louisiana. Common agreement that I understand is that the morning / daytime mosquitos dont carry the same diseases that the evening / night mosquitos do. (Think...
Darn it the decisions never end... Found my brown ribbon and overlaid it on the cowboy conversion. I Liked the Black ribbon, but dang.. Im really liking the brown as well... gives it a totally different contrast
For about 25 yrs, my "bad weather" hat has been a Pendleton wool with about a half a can of scotchgard in it per year lol. Great little hat in winter, but if temp is above 65 degrees F, its pretty hot. It HAS shrunk a bit over the years... guess I need to give it a bit of a soaking and try a bit...
With the mosquitos around east Texas, maybe its something we all should consider. A buddys Dad was actually the first documented human West Nile Virus case in Houston a few years. He survived until last year , but had a rough ten years and never did get back to normal. Id call that outfit a GOOD...
