That's the great thing about the M 41. Look at Clark Custom Guns at Princeton, La for a good selection nowdays. I thing S&W discontinued the barrel I got. Does anyone own a Boyt Safari Jacket that can provide review?
I am just a little shy of 6'1" weighing in at about 230. The XL fits me fine, plenty of length in the sleeves. Love my M 41! I bought it new probably close to 30 years ago with a 7" barrel. It did not take me long to pick up a 5 1/2 " field barrel from Gil Hebard guns. Same rear sight, but a red ramp front. 9mm or 45cal
Never tried a .40, but have a Colt Delta Gold Cup in 10mm Auto, the predecessor to the "10mm short" . It's very powerful, much more so than a .45, more like a .357 mag. I tried one of the Para P 10 models, and found it too heavy for carry, and uncomfortable to shoot. The grip is just too short, and it consistently shot low. Sounds familiar. When I get a new cartridge, I get a minimum of 500 rounds of brass, a few a thousand or more, plus a supply of bullets. This thread has been going on for a long time. 9mm vs 45, It all depends on the bullet, FMJ, I will take the 45, thinking a bigger hole going in and all the way is better.
