That's the great thing about the M 41. Look at Clark Custom Guns at Princeton, La for a good selection nowdays. I thing S&W discontinued the barrel I got. I can hit the range shoot with one for a while, change the barrel and be shooting with a gun with the same trigger and grip, but totally...
I am just a little shy of 6'1" weighing in at about 230. The XL fits me fine, plenty of length in the sleeves. I actually picked up several styles a few years back when they were on sale, a full long sleeve jacket, a couple with short sleeves, and a couple of vest types. I probably use the...
Love my M 41! I bought it new probably close to 30 years ago with a 7" barrel. It did not take me long to pick up a 5 1/2 " field barrel from Gil Hebard guns. Same rear sight, but a red ramp front. The shorter lightweight barrel makes it balance similar to a 1911. I have entertained the...
Never tried a .40, but have a Colt Delta Gold Cup in 10mm Auto, the predecessor to the "10mm short" . It's very powerful, much more so than a .45, more like a .357 mag. I have shot hanging plates offhand with it at 60-70 yards. Downside is that recoil is fairly sharp, but not bad and ammo is...
I tried one of the Para P 10 models, and found it too heavy for carry, and uncomfortable to shoot. The grip is just too short, and it consistently shot low. I have a one of the big 14-45 models I use for a truck gun, with a couple of extra 14 round mags I have a lot in a relatively small...
Sounds familiar. When I get a new cartridge, I get a minimum of 500 rounds of brass, a few a thousand or more, plus a supply of bullets. I probably have a lifetime supply of most, plus plenty of powder and primers. I gradually stocked up on 9.3x57 brass because the only thing available was...
This thread has been going on for a long time. 9mm vs 45, It all depends on the bullet, FMJ, I will take the 45, thinking a bigger hole going in and all the way is better. Good hollow points, the higher velocity 9mm may open better, but still will not wind up as big as the 45 and still will...
Nice! I like that long barrel. I have never been lucky enough to find an original, so I picked up a couple of the repro models in .405 a few years back, one a high grade the other a standard with a repro Lyman 21 receiver sight.

My father had one of those as well as a 4" model. For some reason I could shoot that stubby better than the longer one. I was in the Air Force and had orders for overseas and told him if he wanted to get rid of it to let me have it. He forgot and sold it to a man working for him. I was...
We are still running in the mid to upper 80's here. I am planning on packing up my straws and getting the felts out tomorrow as we are due a couple of "cold" fronts next week. I did take Panama hats direct up on a sale with reduced shipping on a super fino gambler style straw though.
Don't know, whiskey is a clear bright color, you can see or read through( depending on how much you drink). A felt hat is opaque, and rather flat in finish as compared to liquid whiskey, so it would be difficult if not impossible to truly replicate the color and associated qualities.
Naming...
