Love those M 41's. Mine is identical , the long barrel model. I do have a sport barrel from the old Gil Hebbard guns that's 5 -5 1/2 I with a red ramp front sight. Both are extremely accurate. I also have a couple of K frame revolvers, K 38 and K 22 but both are 6" barrels.- jkingrph

I cannot imagine a . 357, or a 44 mag, I think they did make one They would probably be ok to carry for panic shots, if you had a fun of similar configuration but much heavier weight to practice with. I don't know, but when I started driving I carried my keys in my left hand pants pocket. It was and probably still is a little awkward, since I still out of habit carry them the same. I have to pull them out with left hand and put in right hand ignition swith. Old habits die hard though...- jkingrph

I think there is a lot of truth in that. Back in the 60's when I had but one centerfire and one rimfire I could shoot them much better than I can any of the multitude I have accumulated over the years, but I was in my later teens and early 20's then, vs 70 now. What do you use to shave?
Nice find, and good for collectors, however I doubt that you would get a good shave. Those are carbon steel blades, and while very sharp when new, years of oxidation, ie corrosion on the edge will dull them while still wrapped in that original packaging. I have a PPK, and it's not my favorite gun to shoot. Recoil is surprisingly harsh, I guess it's the straight blowback. I tend to put my little finger under the bottom of the magazine so I do not choke up on the grip and have not had any hammer bite problems.- jkingrph

Yeah, I think Teddy Roosevelt liked it for most big game. I suspect a 45-70, especially some of the hotter loads in a good rifle like a Marlin 1895 or one of the repro Winchester 1886 rifles would do an excellent job also.- jkingrph

bashing my new hat
Not having a good means of providing a decent volume of steam, I have simply misted mine until very damp, almost wet then shaped and allowed to dry. It's not as fast as steam but works well.
