I dunno. Mine doesn't seem to have the same issue, it is not a fight to get my arms up. It was stiff as a board when I first got it, but with time and wear the leather has broken in quite nicely (some panels more so than others). Admittedly it is a BULKY piece of kit but I can't complain...
I can safely say this is the finest jacket I own and get compliments on it every time I wear it. It suits the Alaska winter well and I get a fair bit of in it over the season. Top notch product.
Just wanted to give everyone here a heads up that I have put my B6 up for sale. I think it is time to let someone else enjoy this bad boy. I know I have a high water mark price up on ebay, so shoot me a note on the forum and let me know what you would want to pay for it...
I'll tell ya, I have a Good Wear B6 redskin 44 and it is the nicest jacket I own. It works for most winter days here in Alaska and I only need to break out the B3 when the weather dips into the negative digits.

I must admit I wore it out a bit today and got compliments at...
Here is a couple of AAF uniforms I have been working to put together.
Kit includes: B-6 flight cap, F-1 GE blue bunny suit (crazy hard to find in good condition) with inspection tag, theatre painted D-1 jacket, A-4 fight suit, A-1 flight pants (shearling inside with exterior horse hide, pre-war...
Wow, that is really messed up. I had never heard of Exercise Tiger before. Almost a 1,000 men lost on an exercise seems a bit hard to cover up. Also the fact that there were really two incidents that contributed to to casualties, friendly fire and the E-boat attack a day later. It is good...
Thanks for the response. I have treated the jacket with Pecards and have been sensitive to the painted areas. The jacket is in remarkably good shape, to call it wearable might be an overstatement though. I have some original talon zipper pulls that I might consider attaching to replacement...
Hi there, I'm new to the forum but have been collecting for a bit now. You guys seem to be a good resource for this kind of thing, I just picked up this D-1 and am looking for more info on its origins. Looks like it is missing a patch on the left chest just below the words "Smoky Joe", I would...
