Its definitely too warm for anything above 30 F, but thats not a problem around where I live (Back Mountain) for much of the winter. If this jacket does start to show much wear, I'll just have the rest of it overlayed in horsehide, but that would make it a bit hard to sit down in. The only...
Any chance that they are awaiting materials? I specifically waited until they got the seal brown sheepskin back in stock before I ordered, which may explain some of the speed in production.
The sleeves are about 1.5" past my wrist bone when extending my arms as described with the jacket zipped.
This is not a photo of my actual hand, but to give you an idea, the sleeves go to the red line:
I was wearing my new Aero B3/ANJ-4 hybrid today and a woman stopped me and asked if she could pet my coat. I thought it a bit odd, but obliged her and she stroked my fleece for about a minute amazed at the softness.
Ive had quite a few compliments on this jacket, but I must say, that...
I know Ebay is a debated marketplace around here, but one good thing I have found about used jacket listings is that most sellers give the measurements in addition to the labeled size. I have found this very helpful in the past.
Thats one of fhe reasons Im thinking of just wearing it for the season then seeing how it fits, but honestly, I think it will take YEARS before the sleeves break in...they are fully overlayed in horsehide, the cuff is also overlayed in horsehide. It makes for one stiff sleeve.
Im no leather expert, but I see that the grain varies on the jacket which would lead me to believe its real leather. It may of course be split leather or some cheaper cut. I have had real leather that has been very cheap, thick but inexpensive and of poor quality. In fact I have one jacket...
Wore my new aero B3 today and it is much warmer than my previous B3. The hide feels thinner, but the fleece is much thicker. The temperature was in the mid 20's but felt like it was 13 F with the windchill and humidity. I only wore a long sleeve Tshirt underneath, and still was almost hot in...
I could never walk on those pants. I usually wear long thermal underwear that keeps me quite warm, they are very comfortable and much easier to wash than sheepskin pants!
On another note, I wore the jacket for the first time today the temperature 23 F, but feels like 13 F with the windchill...
I always thought that mid range sizes like 42/44 were the norm. I wear a 50/52 and believe me anything 48 and larger becomes very hard to to find, so I wouldnt think there are that many people in that size range comparatively.
I could not imagine walking around in those things. They would be nice for sitting on the deck watching the sun come up on a cold winter morning, but other than that, I doubt Id find much use.
Do you plan to use yours for anything?
I know...I definitely need a good camera. The trade off with the huge collar is that you dont see when you have the it up, but I would only put it up for a very strong wind gust or blizzard type conditions when chances are, you couldnt see much anyway unless its right in front of your face.
No this is how Aero makes the pockets which I LOVE. I have pockets like you describe in my other B3 and I simplly cannot stand them, its my biggest pet peeve about the jacket. They are too thick, you cant fit enough in them and when the jacket is open they just stick out like last minute...
Will do. Im hoping this will be as warm as my other B3 replica. I have a very cheap B3 with very thick hide, but short fleeze, still it was always warm. Right now my warmest coat is my extreme cold weather N-3B, but Im hoping this will rival it for warmth, the hide feels thinner and more...
I surely hope I wont get cold!
My wife took a look at it with the collar up and said I look like snow white! What does she know about jackets anyway.
This is my new Aero B3 / ANJ-4 Hybrid with many custom features including extra horsehide overlays, enlarged collar, enlarged windflap, and arm holes cut extra wide.
As you can see the sleeves are a tiny bit long, this is due to the fact that I had
the shoulders cut wider. Im coming out of...
As you can see the sleeves are a tiny bit long, this is due to the fact that I had
the shoulders cut wider. Im coming out of an 18 month injury, but once I start
weightlifting again, I expect my shoulders to fill out again which will take up some
of the free space. Other than that the...
It's HERE :) It just arrived today, and I love it. I went with horsehide overlays in a seal/seal color.
I will post some photos tonight, although they wont be great resolution because they are from a camera phone, but better than nothing.
