    Vintage roadside

    Reminds me of Mix's Trading Post down in Utica, IL, with a hodgepodge of just about every kind of roadside trinketry from biker gear, to knives/antiques, and even DIY leatherworks supplies. It's a must-stop every time I make a trip down to hike at Starved Rock State Park or Matthiessen State Park.

    My last bottle of Weihenstephaner weissbier. I picked up a six pack to try last time I was at the store. It's pretty good, and a bit heavier than your average summer lager, but not as heavy as the usual dark beers I enjoy in the fall and winter.

    Around here, I only see kids wearing galoshes or rainboots. Like you said, most people just walk in the rain with their regular shoes. Personally, I prefer to wear my leather work boots if I can.
