Hey, for what it's worth, it still stands with me :cheers1: . I hope there are no hard feelings. I'm just as guilty as the next guy for saying something, then going back later, and to my horror, it was taken way out of the context I'd intended!
I really don't see those two things...

I've seen advertisements for it many times, while watching other programs on PBS, but never watched it. I thought it was a soap opera of sorts. I'm going to give it a try now.;)
WWII Bombs
I have a custom news search set up for my Google home page, so that it finds all news articles related to my interest. Here's what I have Google search for with my WWII one:
WWII OR "World War II" OR "World War 2" OR WW2
I say this because, by using this search, I find it is...
This place is awesome!
I've gotta say, The Fedora Lounge is even better than I initially expected. The only things I expected to be able to discuss here were fedoras and WWII, which would have been fine...but there's so much more to it! My wife has now begun to call the FL, "my other family"...
So much for "sticking to my guns" and not bowing out (sorry for the pun) :eusa_doh:
You say word-parsing is a favorite past-time here, but the truth is, you did compare smoking with gun control...regardless of your intention. An analogy is a comparison. I also thought it was...

Hi all,
I worked in a rather large, family owned sporting goods store (as in hunting, shooting sports) for over 7 years, and had extensive hands on experience with many different guns. I also had to quit eventually because I was using too much of my paycheck purchasing firearms (and archery...
I'm a big time University of Michigan football fan :fing28:. My dad has had season tickets since 1977. I'm even thinking about getting a yellow fedora for wearing to the games for the "Maize Outs" ;) :plol
What?! I would also say, no one wants to discuss gun control here either! Comparing cigarettes to guns is absolutely ridiculous! shakeshead
I will bow out of this conversation as I refuse to say any more about either subject...here anyway.

My grandfather was a Tech-Sargent in the 5th Army Air Force. He worked on the brakes and hydraulics of the planes. He is the one I spoke with mostly about the war. Stationed in New Guinea, he saw some action and received a purple heart due to shrapnel from a fragmentation bomb.
My great...
Your reaction was the opposite of mine, and I would suspect most everyones. Most people I know were horrified of turning 30, but once you're there, well...there's not much you can do about it. :eusa_doh: :)
I'm in my mid 30's, well to be exact, I'm exactly "Mid-30" ;) , and I'm cool with...
I don't smoke and never have.
My wife's grandmother smokes and after leaving her home, I can't wear my coat for 3 or 4 days, it smells so bad *yucky* ! I don't know why, maybe it's the type of cigarettes she uses [huh] . It's not like not like that all most homes I've been where the...

No one from "The Golden Era", but I used to get "George Strait" comparisons all of the time when I used to wear a cowboy hat (go figure!) [huh] . Whether I do or not will have to remain a mystery...no photos to post (at the moment anyway). ;) :D
Besides the George Strait thing, I don't know...
Faith Hill...for a long, long time. Incredibly beautiful and very classy. It's no secret...since my wife has known forever. So I'm safe...I hope :o :eusa_doh:
Just for the record though: My wife is way beyond a crush! ;)
I began reading this thread and couldn't stop...very interesting and informative. I must say I didn't realize how unrefined I am. I'm embarrassed to say, I've never even heard of absinthe! :o
I love Woodchuck. Both, the Amber Draft Cider, and the Pear Draft Cider.
I'm going to try some...
