What do you all think of Shawn’s D Pocket pattern? I’m thinking about using that as the base for a custom order, tweaking design details and providing precise measurements.
I’m not much of a hat wearer, but I’ve been thinking about getting a couple of caps. Maybe one waxed for winter weather and something lighter for summer. I’m hoping you folks can help me with a question.
What style do you call this:
That’s a really good price for a rare and desirable jacket like this. I’ve seen some in far far worse condition sell for much much more. The Japanese would scoop it up for two or three times that price. GLWS, not that you’ll need it once word gets out.
Hahah, I posted this one here last month and hemmed and hawed about the size. It’s good in the shoulders, chest and sleeves for me but body is probably a bit short (though more classic 50s fit).
But every time I see it I am tempted. The classic James Dean jacket (needs mouton to complete that...

As mentioned above, weight is only one factor (along with weave and fabric, etc). Just like you can have a stiff 2oz leather jacket or a buttery soft 4oz.

And since I am doing awkward photos in the driveway I might as well bask in the FL for a couple of minutes. @JCSD ’s self portraits always inspire me to do a better job of photographing my jackets … but then I run outside and get all self conscious in case the neighbors are watching and get it...
Heading out for a Father’s Day lunch and we got a little rain. It’s still warm, but I figure I can throw on this ultralight 8oz Marcella jacket. It’s a very open weave which makes it perfect for summer. I’m hoping it will shrink a bit after a wash.
