In terms of buying I'd like to mention the Local German Ebay for us EU folks.
I use google translate and usually people agree to ship inside EU if buyer covers shipping fees.

@Batoidea summed it up nicely. For me this "trend" really represents long term health vs short term comfort/aesthetics, but the most important thing by far is the wide/anatomical toe box.
Found a big mirror on the way to a local barefoot shoes shop where my friend, who is visiting me, wanted to get his first pair. Any barefoot shoe fans on TFL? It's a very interesting topic.
The leather on the Pacific in that picture is Rancho / Ranchero HH. Chrome tanned, semi-aniline.
I really doubt they will deal with CXL. The +200 pound markup for the current CXL steerhide is there because they don't want to deal with it anymore I understand.
Congratulations on your new SB!
Fit looks awesome and the leather seems to have some nice blueish undertones.
I'd say even the sleeve length as it will most likely crease up a bit.
Glad to hear about the range of motion / mobility as the one I'm getting also has the shoulder gussets.
I also...
Also if possible maybe someone could post a photo with a short description of each mobility solution? And maybe compare them, pros and cons. Shoulder gussets, full action back, bi swing back, underarm gussets...
Thank you in advance!
@navetsea
I think I mostly understand why higher armholes (up to a certain point) give good mobility, but could you elaborate on the shoulder rotation? Ideally with pictures/examples. I think this topic was touched in the Field Leathers thread as well.
@Aloysius The reason I think it is too long is not so much related to aesthetics, but rather to the fact that the jacket rides up and tries to choke me when I sit down (when fully zipped up). Or just floats up when partially zipped up. I guess a thinner jacket would kind of fold/bend around the...
Crashing the hardcore sizing/pattern/measurements discussion with a small initial impressions / show and tell / please give fit feedback post about the Vanson jacket that reached me last Monday (finally got a friend to take some fit pics outside last evening).
Got it from Italy through Vinted...
I might try to go for it. Trying to get more measurements. Already gave some conflicting info: said back length 24, even though it is stated as 25 in the description.
You do look uncomfortable/awkward in some of those photos hehe. Might just be the angle or conscious pose.
Is it a custom or a stock? How easy is it to return / switch up?
I would return.
Sleeves tend to become even shorter with wear - if they seem a bit too short new then it will only get...
Looks like you've been talking to Deborah and ordering a SB Tailgunner in natural HH.
I've talked to her about the exact same project in the future as well.
She also mentioned having a lot of issues with the tanneries that provide the natural HH to them.
Even suggested that I wait with that...
@Canuck Panda What jacket is that? Looks amazing! Love the "side lace/corset system" demonstration, totally sold me on this type of configuration. Allows both waist and bottom hem adjustability.
@126610LN
Thank you for the follow up!
"they don't technically have "uppers and lowers"" - Still don't understand what that means. For me the shaft would be the upper in this case and the vamp and heel panels would be the "lowers". Or the shaft, vamp and heel would be uppers and the whole sole...
@BikerMan
No zippers (which is a very good thing from my perspective, as zippers are the first thing to break on boots).
Outsole length : 29cm / 11.4"
Outsole widest part : 10cm / 3.9"
Non removable insole, so I can't measure that.
Unlined, rather thin leather - should be great for warmer...
It's the infamous Vanson plastic zipper insert pin and zipper stop at the bottom..
Shame the seller did not disclose this information, but the price was good enough to be fair even with this issue.
Will see how I go about this..
Ideally, like you guys suggested, will replace the pin, fix the...
Reviving an old but important thread!
Any ideas how much difference does it make whether you use the Prym fray check (or something similar) or super glue?
Some info online that I've found:
If discoloration is the main drawback then it doesn't matter much as the area is black anyway.
