Looking good there @ton312!
I've heard that a realistic expectation is that a drug free (or natural) lifter can expect to add 20 to 30 lbs over their career. I went from about 85 kg (185 lbs) to 95 kg (210 lbs), and maybe a bit leaner over ten or fifteen years. I probably went up a jacket size...
LVC Safari Jacket, which is a cross between a Type III and a Norfolk jacket. It's a cousin of the Zig Zag leather I posted a few weeks ago, but the design is better resolved. More details and pictures at Heddels, Levi's, and Canoe Club.
Steve Jobs would have been far cooler if he'd rocked a green cross zip.
I'm always happy to see different designs, and I could see myself signing up for @red devil's fifth column of East West fanatics. (That purple Freewheelers Little Wing is awesome.)
In contrast, I find the typical brown or...
The rules changed on July 1st. Foreign businesses who turn over more than $70,000 trading with Australia are now liable to charge GST at the point of sale.
I've got a feeling that it's a voluntary thing, so large companies (Amazon, eBay, Mr Porter, etc.) will charge it, but you might avoid it...
I'm a 46" chest, with relatively broad shoulders, and I found that the Campus Jacket was a touch too small with just a thin t-shirt underneath. The salesman reckoned it might have stretched out a bit.
If you look at the photo above, the shoulder seam on my right arm (the one holding the...
D Lewis Warmwear, from the Lewis Leathers Facebook page. (I was trying to find details on the strange black jacket, above.)
There's a bit of information about it.
The jacket below was bought second hand in 1938 from Eric Thompson, future secretary of the VMCC, it was then sold to its...
Aero have cream or white Vicenza, so they could do something similar.
Otherwise, I've seen Real McCoy's jackets in a two tone. But the only one I can recall was a Buco J100 with the zip welts in white.
I saw these in the Best Made Co. shop in LA a month or so ago. I didn't pay much attention, but I recall the leather being quite soft. I think that it was fairly well made, though maybe not on a par with an Aero.
I'm probably heading back to LA in September. I'll check in on them again if...
@torfjord beat me to posting this, but here are the shots of the Aero 101-J from Instagram. It's a bit different to @Monitor's, having a Troy blanket lining and corduroy collar, as well as being made from a navy suede.
@Edward I've heard similar comments from Ken in the past, and there don't seem to be many seventies leather jacket fanatics.
I think that a lot of jackets from that era have questionable styling, and the construction can be poor. The Zig Zag one I posted a few days ago needs a bit of refinement...
Aero Wayfarer in black Chromexcel, collected by a lucky customer from Pickings and Parry. Photos from their Instagram feed.
I still think that it'd be fun to get one of these with zip sleeves and hand warmer pockets, which would give it a seventies vibe. But I don't think that Aero would go...
I tried on a Campus Jacket at the Mister Freedom store a few weeks ago. I'm about a 46" chest these days, so the XXL was slightly tight in the shoulders, but it's a lovely jacket.
Lotuff Leather offer their bags in a natural, vegetable tanned leather. There are pictures of the Day Satchel in this make up on their website.
I asked about this leather, as I'd like their Duffle Backpack, and was told that it's got a U protection coating, which will slow how fast it darkens...
