Really good job Mobile! You made that hat wearable. I'm all about saving a hat and giving it a new life.
Warning #1, your going to look at beat up old hats in a different light now and end you even deeper in the doghouse.
Warning #2, She's going to say "You spent what on that hat? Why...
Since its a bowler party.
Met a lady the other day who like my girl and my hats. She asked if we might be interested in seeing some hats so I gave her my card. Two days ago a box showed up on the door step full of vintage millinery feather work, ladies hats and this bowler. I am flabbergasted...
I bought this hat at St Vincent de Paul. Found it in a "hat bin" completely flat. To my suprise it was a Stetson Stratoliner in a former life. This picture does it to much justice.
After some heavy washing, I reblocked it inside out (better looking on the inside) re pounced it and, well, here...
There might be a sad truth to that Buzz. That being said I say we start a new movment here at the lounge " Hats without Politics"

Beautiful hat Jimmy. Good blues are the best. We should get a thread going on just blue hats.
Is that a blanket stitched edge or a fine ligne ribbon. Closer look if you have the time.
You should match it with shoes and belt. I also hold to the more old fashioned notion that the leather band is for dress, as a metal bracelet is a sports watch. This is a source of debate in current watch circles but I think the leather strap is more refined.

What a great thread. I'm going to have to think about my top 10. As far as the hats posted, I think I want just about every hat.
Good form to everybody who has posted so far. The hats are great!

I was just curious if the felt is the same color if you look under the satin liner. If there were any fading, even if uniform I would think the felt would still be the origional color inside the hat where it is never exposed.
Either way, its a great color combination how ever it has occured...
Is it the same color under the liner?
And if you like hats, your gonna love it here. We may all be hat nuts, but we friendly hat nuts. So welcome to the lounge.

I just scored some sweet 6 ply 3/4" black ribbon like 9 ply in this add. I cant wait to finish my first fedora with it. Wish I could find a wider ply like this, really great look.
