Any thoughts. The hat in the photos seems to be in a lot better condition that the...

Your suspicions are correct JLEE. And before I could do anything about it, the misses claimed that one.
But thats OK. It works into my "More hats for me" plan. If I give her a hat every so often, it limits her questioning me on making myself a new hat.;)
They are going to ask why you did not remove the liner before you shaped it. Which is no excuse for the dye bleeding, but be prepared for that. Any good hat shop should take it back as great customer service. After all, like you said. Rain happens.
Suitedcboy's description of a $100 dollar...
I don't wear a western, but I think you should keep it as is. Good pick on the bash as well.
Besides if you convert it , you will have to hide a lot of the felt in a crease in the top. That crown looks to be over 6". Just my thoughts
I don't want to come across too crass, but being both an avid watch and hat collector, I think that is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. On the first part, it is un-usable as you cant see the time with out taking off your hat. Two, if that Rolex is what they claim and in good working...
"There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the...
Way to take things into your own hands. Looks more like a real hat making tool than I think the majority realize. Hat makers are one of the "necessity is the mother of invention" types. Or so I have found. Kudos!
I agree, living near Seattle for over 20 years and I have always thought Byrnie Utz was horrible. Being the only hat shop around makes it easy to be "one of the Best". Not that they don't have a nice hat. Just poor service. Granted, some of their "Don't touch the hats" attitude is likely base on...
As one of your hatters, I have to say Tony gives some sound directions in sizing down a hat without removing the sweatband.
I took your initial post to say that you are planning to regrow your hair in about 3 months. If that is true, then the foam insulation trick may keep you happy in the...
Best new hat postings in months. Everybody always seams so serious and straight faced.
DJD and Jauntyone both look happy as a clams in dirt, good form fellas.
I agree with all. Most of my hats, straw or felt have 2 1/2" brims. You would probably be happy going as far up as 2 3/4" without feeling to big, and the longer brim will offer moor sun block.
Check your phonebook for Western hat shops in Vegas(sure there has to be one). Cowboys like to mess up their hats. Most shops that sell western hats clean them and should be able to replace a sweat for you.
